Synthesis of Lanthanide Perrhenates
Chemicals:
- Holmium oxide
- Erbium oxide
- Thulium oxide
- Ammonium perrhenate
- Cation exchanger (H)
In this video, I'll show you the synthesis of lanthanoid perrhenates using the lanthanoids: holmium, erbium, and thulium. I carried out this synthesis as preparation for technetium chemistry.

I think its copper k Alpha lines but could also be Molybdenum. Not sure

@@Havron not in the near future ;[ first trials have not been successfull. First it needs to work, that the paper has to be written, approved, published AND then I am allowed to publish a video on it. Even if it works tomorrow, there won't be a video on it for the next 6 months due to this reason 🤷‍♂️ (In fact no double radioactive salts have been successfull. Neither Thorium-, Uranium- or Promethiumpertechnetate)

@@SimonsNuclearchemistry Ha, indeed. First thing's first! Sorry to hear that the initial trials were unsuccessful. Keep at it! It would be a dream of mine to see such a salt be made. :-D Regarding double radioactive salts in general, of course this is far less exciting but surely someone has made a uranate with an also-radioactive cation such as thorium? Barium diuranate is well-known, so I would expect that its radium analogue would be simple enough to synthesize, for someone equipped to work with such things. It it known to have been done?
