What a totally fun and addictive song! It sounds something I’d expect to be featured on Zoboomafoo! The Poly 800 MK II was very first first programmable synth ever back in 1986/87 and it was completely awesome to see it glorified this way! And what a drummer! You inspired me to brush the dust off my Poly and you earned a subscriber.

Sweet song! The Poly 800 was my first analog synth (bought it in 2006). The paraphonic filter drove me crazy, but I cut my teeth on it. I ended up selling it and buying a poly61 which was a little more straightforward, but similar.

You’re videos are some of the best out right now!! I have a poly 800 mk1, if you had one and made a preset pack I would definitely buy it 😩 you’re sound design is next level!!! Excellent stuff!! Cannot wait to see what you do next!
@StephenLearson5 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! I wouldn’t know where to start making a sample pack. How do you make one?
@DJJBENASIS5 жыл бұрын
Learson Peak so like the mk1, you can save your preset bank as a wave form from the tape out I believe it is, but you just record it into the daw. Then the wav can be transferred into any other mk2, or if you get a mk1 and make a preset bank it can be transferred into any mk2. So essentially you could sell the bank via soundcloud by uploading a song using many of the sounds in your custom soundbank, you could put in the description message me to buy, and people can pay you via paypal and then you email them back the wave form via wav. Or if you have an online store, soundcloud allows you to add a “buy now” button and then it would take people to your online store to the preset page. Theres a huge market for quality presets on these synths, all synths really. I personally have spent a fortune on presets, even for my poly 800 mk1, I bought this guys preset pack who also makes youtube videos. Would love to buy from you! Like I said your sound design is very advanced, you can hear it! For the future I have a poly 800 mk1, moog sub phatty, and roland jd xi 😂😉 hope this helped!

This is one of the weirdest synths of all time. I know it's just subtractive but the filter, envelopes, maybe the oscillators give it a weird sound? I like it though, don't get me wrong. Looking into an ex800..

Did you de-noise the audio or is the mark ii way quieter than the original? Really nice 2-parter btw. Love the reharms on the zoo song.

Do you know how to bring up an init patch on one of these and build a patch from the ground up? I got one recently and most of the presets are a bit naff, but you only need to do some minor editing to make them a lot better.
@StephenLearson4 жыл бұрын
SoundsofDecay There’s no init patch but I saved one patch as a simple saw. When I want to make a patch from scratch I go to that patch and just save it to another number
