Paolo first I want to say Thank You! You are a inspiration to us all. I had no idea you would actually take the time out of your day to make a video to explain this to me. Your the best!

Hi Paolo, is it possible to do with the dw 8000 the same like in your “80th synth bass video”? I mean to trigger the arp not only by midi but by the steps of one instrument of the drum machine? Thanks

What did Depeche Mode's drum machine say to one of their synthesizers? "Let's play master and servant" :D

I'm not super well versed in Depeche Mode discography, but I am going to quote "Blasphemous Rumors" and say that it says "I don't want to start any blasphemous rumors, but I think God has a sick sense of humor and when I die, I expect to see him laughing." Just a thought. If I get that wrong, my apologies and I would be very interested to hear the correct answer. :)

1980's era tech- takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Many thanks to Dave Smith, Kakehashi-san and all the others who developed the robust, flexible standard we still use.

Very helpful tutorial! Gotta love MIDI! Have been thinking of ditching MIDI sync via USB and using the Din connections instead. Think my setup might be more stable and have less latency.

Seems a lot of people, including myself, have problems with external sync of this synth. I tried all night trying to get the DW's arp to sync to FL Studio's Synch OUT and it just wasnt having it. The MIDI CLOCK IS PRESENT, but the ARP just wont play. Tried all different settings and midi channels. No Joy and I find many complaints of others on the net of this synth not syncing. I heard there was a early ROM chip that was buggy and Korg had a kind of RECALL on that ROM to replace it.. but the main issue with that ROM was hanging notes from what I can find. Anyway.. it's a real disappointment my DW wont sync its arp to external midi clocks. :(

Is there a way my 707 can SYNC OUT the 808 while being Clocked via MIDI IN from my MPC 2500 Midi Out?
@SynthManiaDotCom5 жыл бұрын
Just get a MIDI to DIN Sync converter. There are several on the market, Roland, Kenton, Doepfer etc.

Hi Paolo, I have a Roland JDXi and a Roland Fantom. I do not own a TR-707 drum machine however the Roland JDXi has TR-707 drums and a 16 step sequencer. Is it possible to get the JDXI's sequencer to do what you did here with another keyboard? Not necessarily the Fantom. If possible, would you be able to do a video demonstrating this. Thanks Nick

Hello Synthmania. I have an odd question, if someone else sees this and knows the answer then feel free to chime in. I have a BCR2000 that was set up for my Alpha Juno by the previous owner. Every button is labeled for every function and parameter, it's great. I am wondering what would happen if I tried to use it with a Korg DW 8000. If I started assigning parameters to the knobs would it save over the previous settings I had for the Juno? I would like to avoid this as the Juno settings, like I said are really convenient. Thanks in advance and great videos as always

qeustion? can you split up the arpiego part on that synth i mean what you showed now makes all keys to arpiego but if you wanna split it up and only do that and make the baspart and want it normal at right hands if you undestand my question?

Nope- you can't split this keyboard.

New Order built a sequencer from a kit. They couldn't get it to work, so had to get somebody to create a special circuit. www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/new-order-how-we-wrote-blue-monday-762505

Check to make sure the 707 is set to send; the MPC is set to receive; and the same MIDI channel.

I found out i was doing everything right but for some reason there was a setting that was not right on the 707 so i reset the 707 by holding pattern group 1 and track and power on and it reset everything and everything worked. It was a huge relief i was starting to think i had a bad drum machine lol

SynthMania Paolo you have some notepad with all the sounds or just your memory?
@SynthManiaDotCom6 жыл бұрын
For synths that don't have a display, you just listen to the sound. If it's a bass, or an organ, a synth pad, strings etc. If you need more information, all keyboards have manuals with list of sounds in pdf format, these days
@GordonBraicks6 жыл бұрын
It’s really strange. The sounds on itself of the 707 sound weak to me. But when I hear you use it in a mix it stands out somehow in a very pleasant way. Maybe I will experiment with it using samples. Don’t have the hardware collection like you ;-).

I only own the M1 VST, but having owned an M1 and a T3, I gotta say that I was blown away. It sounds incredible. The M1 VST also includes the T series sounds and all of the expansion cards.. for 50 bucks. It seem to good to be true, but it's real. There's only three things that are less than ideal (IMHO). 1: The drums. something is missing. They just don't have that "epic thunder punch" of the original hardware..then again, maybe it's my computer . 2: No sequencer. I understand that I may be the only person that would even want it, and truth be told, the only reason I wanted it was for nostalgia, but I still want it. 3: Speaking of the Legacy Collection: No DW 8000 or Poly 800. IMHO, these synths are under rated. Where's the love?
@L77kim77l6 жыл бұрын
Got the M1 and Wavestation VST, it's worth every penny. On YT are comparison videos with the real one. They are very close - some sounds are about identical, other sounds you hear a slight difference. On top you get all the addon-cards on both integrated
