Great video!!! Thanks Dan for your thoughtful and precise opinions. I always appreciate them. I have been using your Syos Signature for my soprano sax for 2 years now and I am always enthusiastic about it, even though I have tried so many mouthpieces. Your Syos Signature is the absolute reference for me.

Dan, you look great and your playing sounds fantastic here! That said, agree- That "Take the A" mpc is bright. That sonic realm gives me "listener fatigue" and is awfully crisp from note to note -vs- being smooth, warm & creamy which yours has.

I quite like a bright ish tone but found this mpc a bit naisely. Perhaps a slightly harder reed would take the edge off it

Take the «A » mouthpiece has CLB signature syos MP roots. So it is bright, no surprise ! I have a bunch of syos mp including CLB and Dan. I really like them. Now I only use syos, so easy to blow, sounding very good, a lot of combinations brightness/power available…and Buy 3 syos for the price of one « top of the range » MP. Thanks for this review.

It's amazing how different players sound completely different on the same mouthpiece. I play the take the A on a vintage 30s Conn and I can make it sound really warm and fat with freeblowing projection

The player Take the A belonged to was his style. He sounded great on it, and he could make it dark too. But you’re right, it’s not you. Your Syos sounds awesome for you. I think mp are such an individual, choice and depends so much on one’s bio-individualism. It’s good to have Syos as a choice out there. Great video, Dan.

Dark is grownup. The other thing will have people in front of the bandstand cringing. Been there and done that. I am grown up now.

They actually work better - 5 years of playing on Syos has proven this to me.
