Syphon SoundPro Review! | Motorcycle Bluetooth Speakers!

I have searched for a straightforward Bluetooth speaker set-up for my motorcycle helmet for quite some time. Upon discovering this product on Instagram, I promptly requested one for review. In this brief video, I demonstrate its functionality and installation process. Syphon got back to me about the controller sticking forward.
"The controller getting stuck in the forward position like that is an issue we noticed in a very small percentage of SoundPro's we've sold in the last couple of months. The issue has already been fixed for future orders but it's a bummer you happened to get one of the few that had the issue. It doesn't affect the durability of the controller it all it's more of just an annoyance than anything. "
I will add to this is has not caused me a single issue.

I wondered the same thing at first , but then I learned to like how it gets stuck , I personally thought it was on purpose , because I use these while riding dirtbikes and don't have much time to hold the controls to change the song , that being said when It gets stuck there I don't have to hold it to change the song because it holds it for me and changes it , that way I don't need to take my hand off my grips for very long , so it is beneficial for dirtbiking and a great non intentional feature

@@alanwright782 As I state in the video they supplied it to me for the review and I pointed out an issue with my unit, tho it has no effects on function. They gave a response and I gave it to you. I would not expect as a reviewer to have an item replaced as I were a paying customer.

Only music or navigation might be good for most, but a microphone for calls would have made a difference for very small manufacturing cost.

It has a microphone, I'm not sure were you can put it other than where they have. Unless you add a boom and them you are back to a full size headset.

The syphons mic is pretty bad, if you talk to someone while riding they wont be able to hear you. Wouldnt buy them if you plan to do anything besides music and navigation.

Voice control? I have a Cardo. Never touch the helmet device other than to power it on/off. Sound quality is decent. Really appreciate the ability to turn off/on music, increase /decrease volume, answer calls, send/check/listen to text, and interface with Siri. When Syphon adds voice control, I'll immediately be interested in checking it out.

Great review Spicy, I have the Cardo PackTalk Slim which I do like very much but the price is steep and I have never even used the intercom functionality in ~2 years of ownership. This seems like a great middleground for those who just want bluetooth audio and seems nice and simple.

Hi Spicy, just a suggestion for another beginner biker video. Would love to see your opinions / tricks on walking the bike in and out of garages and parking spaces and things like that without dropping it or using all your energy. Stuff like where to hold the bike, pushing the bike backwards, on hills, turning. Thanks

2:36 other than the throttle, you also have the brake on the right side... you want to be reactive on that faster than you need for your clutch. Which is another reason to keep your rear brake on the foot pedal for electric motorcycles (unless it comes with a media controller on the handlebar).

I went and got the Cardo freedom x4 which does a lot and has JBL speakers as you can upgrade to bigger speakers

I went for the interphone connect and I have for many years and again no issues it's actually smaller than that I can ride with the phone and connect to other riders and listen to music with adaptive sound so when I'm stopped it notices and the volume goes down slightly then moving it goes back up with wind yes that can be temperamental but it's not bad

for the price of that unit the cardo freecom 2 with the jbl speakers is they way the sound is amazing and the cardo unit is easy to use

Ya I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on these since I only ride snowmobiles, but all these reviews are for motorcycles, I have an FXR helmet moto style and will it work! But I did see the temp range and I won’t ride at all-30 anyway

Do you use ear protection when you're riding ? If so, can you still here them ok ?

By ear protection, I mean the ones that filter out just the wind noise (Eggz, etc) out but let all other sounds in.

Think i watched before glad saw again. Been looking at car play things and communicaters. Same might not need all that. Have a phone if need gps. Keep in coat if raining. Dont ride w people need to communicate with.

Interesting product ... I have 2 questions - can it connect to a GPS unit like a TomTom Rider? ... and does it have more than one channel so it can connect to more than one device at once, like a phone and a GPS at the same time?

That's a question for Syphon, I do not have a separate GPS to test it with as my GPS is run though my phone.

I wouldn't use headphone on a bike (if that's what you mean) it blocks your ability to hear road noise and traffic.

I was gonna get something like that but I have realised after reviewing my Drift footage than when the revs are up on my bike you cannot hear anything except the exhaust so that's the only music I listen to when riding.

@spicy110 they are, worked fine for about a month, then started clipping and got muffled as, have to chase them through PayPal to get my money back after 4 months of owning them, for 300aud they give you 30 days warranty so hopefully it dosnt take you 3 weeks to get them like it did me

They look bulky. If your helmet is a good fit, you shouldn't have anywhere near enough space to fit those in.

Would you recommended this or a sena 50s ( triumph branded). Both work out at around 170 ( mum fors for triumph so we get 50% off ) i will mainly uses for music and navigation. Witch would you recommended ?

I would pick a sena over this as I did for my other helmet UNLESS Like in this example I wanted a very small unit.

At $199 USD, it is about $50 less than the Cardo Freecom 4+ which gives a more aerodymaic controller, voice control, separate microphone and intercom.
