It is heartening to see people of the Ummah being freed of oppression. The choice is simple I would take loyal tyrants over benevolent traitors any day. Asad is a tyrant, but loyal. His father fought war. He supported hizballah in 2006, and in this round through logistics. Listen to US department of state press conference a couple of days ago. They want Asad to change his behaviour i.e to dissociate himself from Iran, and in that case they will legitimise him and remove sanctions. But he refuses to do so. These rebels as you have described yourself are quick to destabilise the situation by using foreign supplied armaments from the enemy. I would accept the tyranny of the shia for a generation if it means the designs of the occupation for our region do not come to fruition.

So,Can we have some logic here guys, Natinyahu just warned Syrian president before the begining of this operation and now blinken openly saying that it's a major hit to Hezbollah and the resistance. And those who made all these advances did it miraculously and so quickly knowing exactly where to strike and the regions with thin Syrian army defenses! Can't you see that this is all Israeli and American move and those "revolutionaries" are typically allied with Mossad and CIA that gave them the intel and weapons needed for these strikes ? How many times will we get scammed by the same trick ?

Correlation without causation. Obama understood when he was harping on about red-lines and Assad doing multiple gassings, pretending he never had damning evidence for said gassings that a Sunni government wasn't good for Israel. In the short term, this will be good for Netenyahu but in the look term this will be devastating for Israel. Netenyahu is willing to destroy Israel for his own survival. Either that or he is the dumbest person ever, which is a possibility.

I still remember those children's refugee faces and some of them are disabled because what they went through. I would rather believe the Syrian people rather than non-Syrian talking about Syrian like they lived there. 1. One of the most alarming things about Syria is that most people can't give you a cogent summary of who any member of the opposition is, what they stand for, who their allies are, or why they're fighting. The very mention of the word "Syria" throws people into a myopia that defies all historical or geopolitical context. Indeed, the very nucleus of any discussion in the West is simply "Assad must go," without any consideration as to what the alternative is or what regime change would mean for the Syrian people writ large. 2. Erdogan, who is still cladestinely trading with "Israel," has played an active part in trying to balkanize Syria for the well over a decade. His normalization talks with Assad fell through. Now no one is questioning why militants with links to al-Qaeda are suddenly pouring into Syria from Turkey immediately after Netanyahu threatened Assad for aiding the Lebanese resistance? 3. Western propaganda has told you that solidarity with the Syrian people can only take the form of being adamantly against Assad. This line of thinking suffocates any space for critical thought and inquiry. Even highlighting the well-documented American and "Israeli" support for the opposition is immediately misconstrued as a full-throated endorsement of the current government. Not only does this poison the discourse, it conveniently services the imperialist agenda to balkanize Syria. Those who claim to be anti-imperialist are now voicing their full support for the U.S. administered occupation of 1/3rd of Syria. 4. When it comes to Syria, asking questions is actively discouraged. Why does "Israel" only bomb territory held by Assad and never the opposition? Why does the U.S. have military bases in rebel-held provinces? Why is it that the same states who are actively funding/aiding and abetting the genocide in Gaza are also feverishly pro-regime change? Why are so many fighters for the Syrian opposition foreigners? The only response offered to any of these queries is a denunciation of the Assad government.

Iraq got conquered by America and they then installed a government. Yes America fumbled in this attempt and found out forming a government there meant far too many compromises to make it their perfect puppet state but in no way is Iraq comparable to Syria. Libya is but that doesn't mean it will translate the same, IMO. Syria has a strong Sunni identity, without outside influences, they will form a collision on their Sunni identity. Assad never really had much popular support. His father created a state of fear and Assad inherited it. The minute the revolution was sounded, his regime ended. Yes, he has remained in power but only through massive support from three outside players, all three required. Iran, Russia and Hisbullah. Question I put to you is, what good is a weak Assad anyhow to any wider aims you have??? If this weakens Hisbullah in their fight against Israel, which should be the only factor in our equation then you should know that the Lebanese army are also involved there. A Sunni regime will not cut supply lines to the Sunni regime of Lebanon. I highly doubt that. Yes Iran will lose all influence and Hisbullah will take a massive blow in their influence in Lebanon but the Sunnis of Levant aren't going to act against their own interest for the interests of Israel.

In Syria there are more than 20 ethnic groups, who speak different languages and it is also a multi-religious country, where there are also ancient Christians who speak Aramaic. In 2012 Assad, who is an atheist and moderate, approved a Constitution that respects all ethnic groups and all religions. How can you think that Muslim cutthroat fundamentalists could best represent the interests of all ethnic groups and all religions that live in Syria? It is stupid to support these terrorists, who are being exploited to advance Western colonialism and which will lead Syria to be only expropriated of its lands that no Syrian will govern anymore. The poverty of the Syrians is also due to the strangulation of Syria that Westerners are doing with sanctions. Assad may not be the ideal ruler, but he is fighting against a powerful criminal system, to keep Syria united. This is a moment. geopolitical historical and unique in the world, which requires putting aside the differences that the factions have with each other and making a single block to guarantee the integrity of Syria and not expose all Syrians to endless wars. Stable integrity, they could then find an agreement among themselves which government to have manage internal affairs. It is not necessary to be pro Assad, but one must be against the invasion by foreign powers of the territory and the political power of Syria that facilitates the colonization of Syria. @@hurataimad-s3q She confuses peoples with political systems. No people would want to build their well-being on the ashes of other peoples. A political system that creates wealth, in a predatory way on other imperfect political systems, is not democratic at all, but is only predatory colonial. How many investments for the population have you seen made in Kosovo, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan etc etc in decades? They have only built military bases, while democracy is a cultural process and requires total openness to free exchange between civilians, because they acquire awareness of the reality in which to live and choose to fight dictators. Instead, these populations are enslaved with wars, total economic embargo and sanctions, which are also illegal according to international law. In Syria, Assad held elections even in times of war, in Ukraine instead, which is under the total control of the USA, they suspended them. The Syrian factions could collaborate and find an agreement not to vote for Assad. Compromise is a democratic tool, not the cancellation of elections.

Before the Black Lives Matter movement and COVID-19, I didn’t really understand geopolitics or politics in general. However, I was aware of the injustices faced by Muslims and other non-Western cultures. I began to pay attention and analyze things as best as I could. I noticed a few trends, one being that the leftist groups, particularly the Marxist socialist ones, are ideologically consistent but lack moral integrity. For example what’s happening in Syria are demonstrating exactly that because many people who have been influenced by leftist socialist ideas that tend to view global issues in a biased way. They see capitalism as the enemy no matter what and support anyone with a Marxist socialist background and those who oppose Western hegemonic viewpoint, regardless of the injustices these Marxist socialists groups or nations might have committed against their people or others. Their support for the Palestinians isn't necessarily about the injustices faced by them (Palestinians), but rather because the early resistance movements were led by Marxist socialist parties you can see how they throw Hamas under the bus when push comes to shove. This pattern can also be seen in countries like Iraq and Lebanon, Yemen, as well as in various Arab and African nations, including China (against Uyghur) and Russia (Chechnya, Ukraine) though might make case against Ukraine. These countries are ruled by harsh, authoritarian leaders who oppress their own people or others just as severely or close to how the Nazi Zionist oppress the Palestinians. However, leftist socialists often ignore these issues to maintain their ideological stance, even when it contradicts moral principles (i.e. they are ideologically and strategically consistent not morally). For instance, when Sunni Muslims express distrust towards Iranian or Shia militia groups it supports due to the injustices they have committed against Sunni Muslims, many Marxist socialist liberals resort to labeling Sunni Muslims with negative derogatory orientalist tropes like Wahhabist or jihadist, showing that if you scratch the surface they are racist, orientalist and unhinged coons. The Syrian people are among the most oppressed globally, similar to the Palestinians, but the key difference is that the Syrians are suffering under a regime of their own, while the Palestinians face oppression from foreign settlers, guest who were government party the put Zionist in Palestine the labor socialist party. This situation is echoed in the struggles of the Uyghurs, Rohingyas, Indian Muslims, and others in various countries. When Syrians fight for their freedom against a dictatorship, those who claim to be justice warriors often resort to spreading harmful propaganda, labeling them as Islamists or terrorists. It's important to be cautious about aligning with one side without doing thorough research to find accurate information, even if it may be hard to sift through. Just putting my two cents in and Jazakallah khayr akhii keep up the good work.

I think it’s important to set the guidelines on why people (incl. Muslims) are upset with this offensive. While Asad is a tyrant, a coward and a weasel. The only thing that his pitiful existence is valuable for is that the supply lines between Iran and Lebanon/Gaza/West Bank are kept open. No one, except delusional leftists/Asadists/Iranians is under the impression that Asad will fight Israel, both he and his father capitulated to Israel in many respects and they don’t have the stomach to confront them. However, the Rebels are steeped in uncertainty, Jake Sullivan had an email leak where he said “AQ in syria is on our side,” the fact that the Rebels have Ukrainian/NATO weapons (those come with conditions), the fact that HTS is getting extremely favourable media coverage in the west. Sh. Asrar Rashid’s comments about how sunni scholars prefer (living under) Asad to Jolani is also very telling. I think it’s important to not get caught up in the hype, and fall to the same uncritical idealism that caused the Liberal Arab Spring. We can understand that the revolution is just, yet its actors are not. We don’t need to commit to extremely baffling and erroneous statements like “ISIS worked hand in hand with Asad” and “Israel wants Asad in power” such statements have no reason to be made.

As of 2024, the United States maintains a military presence in northeastern Syria, particularly in parts of the Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Al-Hasakah provinces. These areas include some of Syria's largest oil and gas fields, notably the Al-Omar and Conoco oil fields in Deir ez-Zor. The U.S. justifies its presence by citing the need to counter ISIS and support local allies, primarily the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). However, the Syrian government considers this an illegal occupation and accuses the U.S. of exploiting its natural resources. There are also reports of resistance to the U.S. presence, including clashes involving tribal forces and SDF-affiliated groups. The U.K. does not currently have a significant military presence in Syria but supports U.S. initiatives in the region through NATO and other partnerships. The future of these territories is uncertain, with the Syrian government expressing intent to reclaim them and begin restoration efforts. The situation continues to evolve, influenced by regional dynamics and international negotiations.

The power vacuum that will remain, it will be a disaster. And she wouldn't be able to go back right away also. The max will be about 10 years and 3-5 minimum.
