I just went. It's great. Just leave Guatemala City directly from the airport. Get to Antigua and then breath and collect your thoughts. There's a great cigar bar there too.

In the last gas station where he was filling up, he said he put his last money worth of gas into his car - he wouldn't have made it home if I hadn't approached him in a gas station in Serbia to ask for a ride and he accepted.

Detachable day pack just big enough for a legit camera and day kit is such a good idea. Also, dudes girl is right, the salads and soups in Moldova are so good. Spent 5 weeks and Chisinau and the food was amazing, but the city is gritty and raw, if you like that kind of thing.
