The DHA process is faster now. I went to apply for the smart card. It was a quick process. I just took 15 minutes to take photos and update my residential address. I got my smart card and passport in 2 weeks. 😁

One time at Home Affairs when collecting my passport, the lady took one look at my full first name (It's Welsh) and decided she wasn't even going to try and pronounce it. So instead she decided to use my second name, John. So she starts calling out "John!".... "John!" and of course I'm not even paying attention because that's not my name and I completely don't even realise that she's trying to call me. Then eventually she shouts over at me, "Hey, white boy! I'm calling you!" and everybody looks at me like, "Ja John! She's calling you John! Why aren't you going up there, John!". So I get up and walk over and everybody in line makes a groaning noise like, "Ah! John. This dude is useless!". Fun to laugh about now, but I was so embarrassed at the time. 😂Not like I can explain to all 40 people in line that my name isn't actually John.

Facts only. I was at the Krugersdorp home affairs office 8 months pregnant and sat for 7 hours. Eventually the man who "assisted" me told me l have too much attitude & my Husband should divorce me because he'd never have time for a Woman like me. Personal much?! Staff was walking around barefoot exchanging di kaftin & talking about food, then at 15:30 they told the remaining people that they would not be assisted & should go away and return in the morning.

In the UK u get the form from post office you fill in your form and sign then send it to passport office or take it there which will be literally 2minutes for them to process and within a day your passport arrives at your door step. You dont need to be there all day for days they will jus verify your details cause they have it all in the online system

I'm now starting to think Africa is one country cause this shit happens even here in my country. I went to get my NRC (ID) at 8 in the morning and I got it at 1pm and it's because I paid a bribe and the people who didn't pay (you're not supposed to pay) were told to wait for till lunch was over and that's after 3pm.
