As much as i’d love to see a new album from them, i’d rather that they stayed friends and did occasional concerts playing tracks from their already released albums. i’m thankful for what music we have already 🙏 System wouldn’t be what it is without serj, and i personally wouldn’t want to see new material without him.

System without Serj isn't the same, even if Serj doesn't sing that much compared to Daron on the songs. We already have that with Scars on Broadway, and it isn't the same. All four of them together is what makes System unique.

I’ve considered them finished. It is truly a shame . This band could’ve been one of the greatest bands in history had they stayed together and consistent . They LITERALLY stopped producing new material at their absolute peak. The fact that they could not agree on differences is gonna be their legacy unfortunately.

I would have no issues with the band continuing on without Serj, nor would he.. I also think it would have to be under a different name and as a different brand. Serj’s voice is just so iconic and unique that I don’t think that he could be “replaced”. Watch interviews with Dave Grohl about Nirvana.. I think it’s kind of the same thing. There isn’t a replacement for Kurt Cobain and it was always Kurt’s thing. I don’t think Serj is replaceable either. Playing as SOAD with another singer would be doing to Serj what Darren is complaining about.. Benefiting from Serj’s work, while cutting him out of the paycheck.

In theory they could move forward with a new member being added while also leaving room for Serj to rejoin as well in the future and still do there occasional live shows with Serj. I think at this point in time it's probably best for everyone (the members of the band and the fans) that system continues on. We've had 2 new songs and they still do some live shows, not many bands on hiatus can say that about themselves. So there is definitely a will there still.

It does sound like genuine creative differences. Serj didn't want to make heavy music anymore before Mezmerize/Hypnotize. I heard he had to be coaxed into making those albums with the band. I really like those albums and I think the four need to remain the four the same way Led Zeppelin was the four or The Beatles were the four. Serj is irreplaceable to me. With Alice In Chains Layne Staley was also irreplaceable to me. I know this means I'm downgrading William Duvall and I'd rather not do that but Layne was a singularly powerful vocalist and no matter who they brought in it just wasn't going to be the same. Duvall may be able to hit all the notes but you just aren't going to get that feeling without Layne. Again, it sucks that I'm saying that. But it's true.

They'll never obtain another voice as unique as Tankian's, but if the members want to try something as a group with a new singer, then I wish them only the best. It will either fail, and they'll be left where they are currently, or it will succeed, and Serj might come to realize he is in a much different position. If the band meets with success with a new singer on board, Serj will either concede and let them continue on as they want, or he'll have to reevaluate his stance on the business aspect of things and hope they'll have him back. Other bands have had limited success with new singers (Motley Crue for example), and others have furthered their careers and have been relatively successful (Journey, for instance).

For the fans, it's never really fair, because they are the ones who are investing in the success and future of these groups. And when you got a nice chunk of change, a record label, and resources, I really don't see the problem of making something happen. There really is no excuse. They need to get a hold of Mike Patton, if he's available. Could you imagine Mike Patton fronting SOAD? There are so many possibilities with that.

I think it would be cool if the 3 of them make a new album under system name and just invite serj as a guest in majority of the songs, that way is still daron's music but with a touch of serj as a guest and serj doesn't have to worry about artiistic differences cuz he'll be only a guest 🤔 i dunno i think that"ll kinda settle their artistic diferences 🤔

I'm torn... System without Serj sounds crazy... But the other 3 are amazing too. Maybe go the Audio Adrenaline or Alter Bridge route. Start a new project with the 3 musicians and a different singer, under a different name. Leaving System available for when Serj is ready

The question should not be why aren’t we getting new music? The question should be why is the credit divided so weirdly among the bandmembers when it should be equal credit to all instead of all credit to one.

I am just happy if they only do shows. It has been a let down over the years and don't forget those new tracks released were going to be on Scars On Broadway's new album. It's just a dream that probably won't happen. But I am not okay with SOAD only doing west coast shows considering I travel every time to see them on the west coast 8 times in total.

Serj has that unique voice, but really the band should of tried buying Serj out already. I'm not big fan of System of a Down, but I do understand how thier fans feel about Serj staying. It's truly amazing that they haven't tried to move on.

I always thought they should audition other lead vocalists like: Bravo Amazonian, Tuz Iranian, or Dinko Macaronian

I see the Scars On Broadway albums as basically SOAD without Serj though I think only John was only those albums other than Daron. Yeah they probably should of moved on without him a long time ago but they didn't and now? Better late than never I guess but I think there are certain reasons why they never did before so maybe its a legal thing. Its really too bad they couldn't do one more all together.

As much as I would love to see a new SOAD album, I have long ago learned to accept that it will never happen. Kinda unsure if I do want a new album, Seth honestly doesn’t sound quite as good as he once did, and I don’t want Daron trying to overtake Serj’s position. I’m still grateful we still have an amazing back catalog!!

Nah, no replacing serj...while Matt sounds great, he sounds nothing like serj...2 totally different voices.

They should get an unknown singer who has a voice similar to Serj's. Dont matter if people call that fake, or whatever, it dont mean shit. New SOAD with prime Serj-style vocals would be AWESOME. I mean, if AC/DC could do it, why cant they.
