yup... you two kick ass. it's official. Some people have those personalities that just make a person want to smile with them. You guys have that for sure! If you do a rage against the machine song; I'll recomend a song called 'Bulls on Parade" .. One of their most popular, lots of interesting dynamics to the song and video. Great stuff!

Daron writes almost all his parts and it took him 3 weeks to record his parts for the album Toxicity when it took John 6 days to record his drum parts. Shavo is not a great bassist. He is a great marketer, manager, and promoter, which was his initial role with the band before he started playing bass and he still had a huge influence on the "image" side of the band throughout their run. But yeah he is nowhere near one of the best bassists in the game.

You guys should do BYOB or Question! By SOAD next. I can’t wait for you to see how Serj looks with long hair. He looked so different that I couldn’t believe it was him haha. His voice also sounds different in those than the 2 you reacted too. Also Serj is indeed 51 today. He was probably around 34/35 when this was made.

My kids grew hearing my music, and it influenced theirs. So they know my musical taste, and they introduced me to SOAD. But I love your reaction, because when you said "Bad-assed - Shut your mouth!" - I knew I wasn't alone in my generation loving SOAD.

The lead singer Serj Tankian is really talented. He is also originally from Armenia. Much of System of a Down's lyrics reflect his criticizm of the Genocide of the Armenian people in the early part of the century and how it relates to modern politics.

Fun fact, all 4 are Armenian, the guitarist immigrated from Iraq, they made a band talking about “Bring Your Own Bombs” and lyrics like “wired were the eyes of the horse on the jet pilot, one that smiled as he flew over the bay”.... and then 9/11 happened and they were investigated by the FBI and Secret Service. ‘Murcia, when art can get you investigated.

This song has a simple, but emotional meaning... It was written when SOAD were in touch deeply with their Armenian side... 'Eating seeds as a pastime activity' - literally, in Armenia, US/Armenian places, you would see people eating sunflower seeds to pass the time, in public places there's often trails leading to groups of Armenians. 'Do you own disorder' - There is alot of disorder in Armenia. There's no jobs, police are corrupt, the goverment are connected to the mob and the Armenian race, to some point, has given up. THis is why the US seems like a heaven compared to Armenia. 'Sacred silence and sleep' - With there being no jobs and the country going to the dogs, having something to pass the time (Like eating sunflower seeds) is ideal. Silence occours because nobodys really, genuinely happy; thus silence is created. People have nothing much better to do than eat sunflower seeds and sleep to pass time. 'Looking at life through the eyes of a tire hub' - This means you don't care how fast you're moving through life, you only see a fraction of what's out in the world. 'When I became the sun, I shone life into mans hearts' - this means he used to be really happy, social and doing what we would consider normal activity, until the toxicity (danger, poverty, disorder) caught up and took over. 'The toxicity of our city' was also explained there.
