March time is used because the standard rate of walking is 120 footfalls per minute; and march time code is pulse at 120bpm in order to subconsciously create a beat to which people can walk to; therefore speeding up the evacuation process.

Why is it some truealerts are higher pitched than others?
@zacharybishop65958 жыл бұрын
Ah thank you. I prefer the lower pitched ones, they seem a lot quiter compared to the ones on free run.
@SERSafety8 жыл бұрын
Also I had a bit of tape over the horn inside of it to make it quite.

What did Simplex do with all the current and true alerts made after the one you have that won't let them work on anything but a Simplex panel?
@HenBasketFireAlarms8 жыл бұрын
Gary Beltz Because money.

electronicwiz101 yeah bit I mean whwt is simplex doing to the alarms they would make them not work with other panels?
@ironmatic18 жыл бұрын
The MS-10UD-7 outputs filtered DC.
@FireAlarmTech98 жыл бұрын
Simplex made them operate only on SmartSync, there are a few free run and selectable models such as this one, but most need a supported panel or module.
@FireAlarmTech98 жыл бұрын
Also most Simplex devices from the 90s and forward do not take FWR well, which is what is put out by most panels. They need filtered DC otherwise they will slowly be damaged

The TrueAlert Model was the one that scared me the most. I used to have it back in my school., and everytime it went off, I got scared. !
@Seeker-wq8jc2 жыл бұрын
I feel you, OK Jeffy. My Elementary school back in the early 00s had TrueAlerts, not entirely sure of the specific model number since there's like forty different ones, but they were TrueAlerts alright, the short ones like the one in the video. Those alarms are why I still to this day feel nervous around fire alarms, they scared the hell out of me. They were loud as HELL, and I have bad memories of walking down the hallway during fire drills, covering my ears as those ear splitting alarms were just ringing off the walls, the lights turned off as all we could see was the daylight coming through windows, and the bright flashing of the strobes everywhere. It was nightmare fuel for a kid with sensitive hearing like me. They were set to code 3, to paint the picture even clearer. If I ever get into fire alarm collecting (rain check, I'd rather watch videos on them than actually own them), the first one I'd want is specifically one out of my old Elementary school, assuming they still have them. Who knows, I haven't been in there in over 15 years. But that would be the coolest, if unnerving thing to have in my collection; not only just any TrueAlert, but one specifically that was in my old Elementary school that fueled my phobia of fire alarms.
