Two things to note: 1). DISCLAIMER: This video features devices powered by 120v AC. Do NOT play around with this kind of voltage, it has the potential to cause serious bodily harm, or even death. I made careful and deliberate efforts to verify that the circuit was not receiving power while it was being serviced. Only work with 120 volts if you follow proper safety precautions, or have someone on site that is qualified. 2). Sorry about the badly edited jump cut in the beginning, I stated that the yellow walk test LED was new, but it was actually in the last system test, so I cut it out of this video.

How did you wire AC alarms to DC alarms? How did u mix 120vac with 24vdc horns i wanna do 12vac and 24vdc soon
@FrostedStrobes Жыл бұрын
I used a 24vDC relay, powered by the panel's horn NAC, with a 20vAC power supply running through the contacts (the 4050s are 12vAC, but they should be fine since there's four of them). Be very careful not to get anything mixed up, that's how you end up with broken alarms. Essentially the same with the lights, only difference is each relay is located at the base of the lights (except upstairs, where it's positioned between the two since I bought one fewer relays than I ended up needing). The golden rule that I have followed from the beginning is that anything and everything can be fixed or rigged to work using relays.

@FrostedStrobes Жыл бұрын
Being patient is the only real advice I can think of. If you get too excited and blow all your money on an overpriced fire alarm (which, it would seem, there's a lot of nowadays), you end up missing out when it shows up again three months later for half the price. You overpay for one alarm, you can't afford other alarms.

I love the red lights. That is very old fashioned. That is what they used to install in schools during the Titanic era and during the World War 1 and 2. They didn't have strobes back then and so they used the red globe lights or the globe lights, just like that, with red light bulbs screwed in. Definitely old school! However, I think they were by the exits. However, those blinking red globes WILL demand your attention! A lot better attention grabbing than the strobes. And, they look WAY more unique than the strobes.
