Adding additions usually doesn’t affect older parts of the building in my experience. I recently tested a school that had 2903s and then an added section had wheelock AS, and then another added section had spectralert advances.

Rare 4050-80 sighting I see, glad to have you back. How recent was that addition? I just talked to David Redpath about NFPA 72 regarding grandfathering and additions, and he said it depends on the jurisdiction. He said that even after the newer additions are done, the older existing sections are still compliant due to the grandfathering rule.

My old elementary school had those horns and it just blared - older alarm notifier system that didn't have the code selection like a code three found in most systems today.

Yeah, the motor horns aren't very common. There is a fix for that raspiness.
