I have learned so much from watching nic. Before I started watching I used to think that the notification devices detected the smoke but then I learned that you have to a smoke detector hooked up to the system.

Great video. Those pull stations remind me of Radionics pull stations every time.
@mikeross88010 ай бұрын
Honestly I like the look of these pull stations best as they use that classic T-bar styling like Simplex plus they’re metal so they’d last forever. Now if only Honeywell could get the rear setup exactly like the NBG12s I bet they’d be far more popularly used for sure.

Nic just found out that my high school is getting its system replaced. The old system was Sherlock mt horns strobes with notifier bg 10s and is now a system with notifier bg12lxs and system sensor speaker strobes with a notifier panel. It also has a custom-led map of the school that shows the zones. I believe the school was broken up into seven zones. Interestingly, they are doing an entire voice evac system.

There's something I need to tell you. I was walking to my next class and someone pulled the fire alarm in my high school. If you want to know my high school system, they're fire bells, and I find those easier on the ears and that's why I like fire bells more, and don't care how much current draw they are.

If you wanna erase the old address you can use any hand sanitizer with alcohol in it, or you could just use isopropyl alcohol itself but the hand sanitizer is a bit easier because it stays in place.

I just noticed that the text on the MPS is off-center and I can't unsee that. I still love the pull station's exterior design-looks very nice and the dual action covers are very helpful too. You aren't going to accidentally pull one of those, and you won't need a stopper either. As for questions, though: would you some day be able to do a demo of the security part of the 320? I've only seen one video on it and that video never explained its purpose or anything else about it. I'm guessing it requires Verifire tools, but I'll have my fingers crossed that it doesn't... Also, I get that this system is only meant to be a life safety system so if you're not willing to do that, no complaints here.
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
The security function is not what a lot of people think. There seems to be a misconception that it's to be connected to a security system however that's not the case. It's meant to be a function where if you have annunciator cabinets or fire hose cabinets or any similar fire equipment in some sort of enclosure it can have a door contact/tamper switch on it to create a security trouble basically.
@SomeGuyWithInternet10 ай бұрын
@@nics-systems-electric I had been wondering if that was the case (security of the FA system itself or something else). It sounds like a useful feature but it's one that you'd rarely see in action on a real system since people seldom tamper with that equipment. Pretty much never on a demo system because people don't have a need for it and probably don't know what it's for, either. Thank you for clearing that up, it's interesting to know!

That whole system is a complete over kill for a home. You would have to add 20 more stories to that home before you came even came close to using that panels capacity. Remote annunciator, manual pull stations, 12ga. Cable for initiating devices😮 Stay in your lane there harry home owner.😂😂
@nics-systems-electric9 ай бұрын
No need to be negative. I can install whatever I want in the house whether the panel is large or small. I don't use 12 gauge for initiating devices. This system is not just for protection but also for educational reasons as well as content for my KZbin channel which if you commented on this video it was successful at that. Your math is incorrect you could not add 20 more stories with the same configuration as what is seen here.
