I have the impression that the Kirin 9020 is just an overclocked version of the Kirin 9010 🤔, and that's probably why it heats up 🔥 so much and is so unstable, it's a Kirin 9010 pushed to its limits.

My conclusions: 1/ The SD8 Elite gets its high scores on GPU by pushing the phone to 50c+ and that is not good. No wonder it beat the iPhone, which kept the phone at a sensible temperature by moderating the GPU and brightness. 2/ The GPU on the Kirin sucks and that is a good reason not to buy for gaming as there is no certainty that developers will optimise games for the platform. A deal-breaker if there was ever one. 3/ CPU the iPhone won as single core is 10% higher and for smartphone use, for 99% of people is far more relevant than thrashing all performance cores as the efficiency per watt takes a dive. Pixel and Kirin miles behind and totally uncompetitive. 4/ The stability on the Pura is because its performance is so low and is meaningless when compared to rivals scoring 2-3X higher. The iPhone is clearly the best optimised for the average user. The temps and efficiency on the OnePlus is unacceptable. The Kirin Mate is just years behind. The Pixel/Tensor as we know is way behind rivals.

Honestly I don't think people should buy Huawei. Pixel phones are usually heavily discounted after launch so they can make sense instead of other flagships, but Huawei phones aren't. Idk why you'd buy a Pura 70 ultra instead of a vivo x200 pro. It's just worse in everything. Yes, it's a cool phone and it's impressive what they could achieve but still, why pay the same for a worse phone
