i have Addisons Disease - its a very rare disease and you either get lucky or diagnosed on the slab. If your mum wants the truth of how addisons destroys peoples lives and body. I am a retired nurse in late 40 and trained in The School of Nursing, 2 wks in class and 3 months on the wards - without doubt the best way to learn is by being on the wards with experienced nurses. A piece of paper is great to achieve however applying that knowledge to a patient, and at times you need to make an on the spot decision and it being the right decision first time - you cannot get all from a book - you need to have gut instinct which takes another good 3 years after qualifying. Would i advise a career in Nursing - no. I would say qualify and go to places that need nurses, disease, lack of food etc. Again mum is welcome to ask me about Addisons et al.

Why is Prednisone effective in relieving vasculitis, secondary to SLE?
@samuellambertmurrayduncan14124 жыл бұрын
What prednisone does in general is inhibit the immune response by inhibiting the inflammatory cytokines. That is why prednisone is prescribed in a host of autoimmune diseases, because it reduces the inflammation caused by the autoimmune disease by supressing the inflammatory cytokine release. Vasculitis is also an autoimmune disease in which the vessel wall (specifically tunica media if I am correct) is attacked. Thats why prednisone is effective in both diseases.
