Nothing? At the height of their importance, the sugar islands in the West Indies were the single most important part of the British economy, and remained so until the growth of the industrial revolution overtook them. You should acknowledge that fact at least. Those who did the labour in both sectors were treated in a manner we would think unbelievable, until the one was abolished and the other alleviated by social reforms at home. The problem we have today is ignorant fools attempting to push the very different and far more complex racial narrative of the pre-civil rights United States onto Britain and other anglophone nations as if they were all identical. They were not.

There is a lot of evidence of racism against minorities in the UK, just as there is plenty of evidence of racism against the majority. What is lacking in anti-majority evidence is systematic study, which is not done as it has not, until recently, been an evident problem. Where are the studies of minority owned businesses and their racial make-up, for example? How many companies owned by British based Asians have minorities as a majority on the board of directors, for example? Who has studied this and what is the evidence? There is also a great deal of inter-minority racism. Some Muslim attitudes towards Jews would make the BNP blush. Pakistanis and Indian do not have a happy relationship (and that is nothing to do with the Raj, BTW) and 'blacks', whatever racial group that is, hate each other to the extent that they kill each other far more than any other group. None of this is simple, nor easily solved, neither is it the problem it is made oust to be. Try living in the Middle East, China or Africa if you want to see real racism in action

Examples of anti-white racism: The industrial-scale abuse of white working class girls across the country that was systemically denied and covered up for decades so as not to offend the non-white culprits. The fact that racially-motivated violence is perpetrated against white and black people, but the media and societal outcry only holds the names of the latter victims for posterity, while the former go largely forgotten. The inverse is true for perpetrators. The racism of job listings that specifically bar white applicants, being equivocated away as acceptable (the examples in the video are not the first or only instances of this. ITV, I'm looking at you). The two-tiered legal system which criminalized the milquetoast expression "It's okay to be white" ,while politically partisan police officers and white politicians and footballers kneeled in support of the black supremacy movement BLM, and stood idly by as their enablers, as rioters sought to "dismantle whiteness" and destroy public and private property, for weeks and months at a time. The automatic presumption of "whitemess" as something oppressive being the default position of national broadcasting channels, even as their funding models legally and implicitly compel white citizens to subsidize them. The automatic presumption that criticism of a non-white politician or public figure is motivated by racism, even with ample evidence to the contrary - especially with ample evidence to the contrary. The poor educational outcomes for white working class boys in the UK going unaddressed or receiving no corrective or affirmative action push, when the use of the latter for other, non-white, demography continues to be championed and even employed regardless of where the disparity now lays. The automatic presumption that a majority white country is something to be corrected or fixed. The numerous adverts (including one for the NHS) that overstate non-white migrant contributions to the economy relative to those of the resident white citizenry and workforce (with the NHS advert implictly characterizing and castigating the latter groups as sheltered, lazy and ungrateful; aired during the pandemic). The dearth of entirely white families represented on television in a majority white country, with the unrepresentative bi-racial couple being so ubiquitous as to be a running joke amongst those honest enough to notice (and get called racist for their trouble.) The casual and ahistoric way in which "systemic racism" and "colonialism" are invoked to berate contemporary white Britons about their supposed benefitting from their ancestors' crimes, reparations for which continued right up to 2015, despite no one alive today being directly involved in the trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. The blackwashing of white historical figures and the infusion of "diversity" ahistorically into time periods, to reframe the history of a traditionally majority white nation as more diverse than the circumstances of a given part of its history would allow. Taught in schools. Shown on television. Used to diminish, underplay, and revise away the accomplishments of white individuals and the contemporary white audience's connection to the past, while simultaneously playing up "white imperialism" and historical wrongs. Each of these touches upon different sections of society, they are (as Leo Kearse says) baked into the institutions and government, the non-profits, the media, academia, the corporations, the very cultural mores of much of the population (including those it affects, via things like the self-flagellating "white guilt" and the nonsense notion of "white privilege"); So yes, it is racism, and it is very much systemic - by definition and in implementation.
@ShanghaiRooster
@ShanghaiRooster Жыл бұрын
Whilst agreeing with the broad thrust of what you say here, I must point out that the 'reparations' for the slave trade you mentioned was actually compensation paid to slave owners in 1833 for the loss of their 'property', a sum of (iirc) £20 million, which amounted to some 20% of GDP at the time. This was a legal necessity, as arbitrary seizure of an individual's goods and possessions had been illegal since Magna Carta. However that may be, any debt this country might have morally owed for its involvement in the Atlantic trade was more than settled by the century long campaign by the Royal Navy to put down the slave trade, not just in the Atlantic but anywhere it was found.

From TFLs own website "At TfL, 32.4 per cent of our workforce is from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background." They are not trying to get to representative figures for the country as less than 20% are Bame, they are trying to get to representative for London were 43% are Bame. It is a scam where they say everywhere in the country must = the 20% national figure but then insist that inner cities must also reflect the inner city actual figure but as over 75% of Bame folk reportedly live in inner cites that drops the non inner city figure from 20% to around 5% but they won't allow that .

@@iainwares6361 He never said it was illegal, he is simply pointing out the double standards. The black guy is trying to normalize this and trying to say that there is no evidence of systemic racism against white people. How much evidence does he need? There is obvious lots of examples where representation does not actually represent the demographics of the country. I think everyone should have equal opportunity and if the best candidate for the job happens to be a minority then obviously, that is the best choice. People should be judged on their ability to do the job and qualifications not their ethnic background. I have actually witnessed this at work where an upper level manager from a Caribbean Country actually said that we should not be hiring candidates from Europe, in a meeting. The biggest issue with a lot of you - is that you beat around the bush (nationally speaking). You lack the knowledge, confidence, cohesion, those sorts of things. After decades of 'oh no colonialism' - it apparently never dawned on you that some of us preferred being colonies did it? The idea that sometimes, what the British replaced when they 'invaded' was worse? I have heard the same thing in the Donbas recently. From people who were there hugging Russian soldiers. Most in the world don't even seem to know that the independent republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have their own militaries of a kind. They have a modified version of the Russian flag. Their own anthems. To make sure locally that people can see they did actually vote. As Putin said they did. And they fight voluntarily. I've got on stage and danced with a few of them. Nice people, all things considered. Point being - a lot of things aren't what you might think. Because only the 'victor' or 'funded' gets to speak. Like Assange. Every one else is silenced. Some Democracy you westerners have. Oh .. I am joking there. You don't have one. Don't you see it? They replaced your Empire with a shame culture. To kill you off. It's cultural cleansing. You are the 'vile wh*teys' who are now the only group who can be racist. And you put up with it. Lol. You put up with it, because you are pathetic. Weak. Snivelling little worthless cowards. Dont like those words? Well I could tell you a story. Of how my great grandfather and his father joined the British Empire. It's not a nice story. But it is the story of how the Gurkha's came to join you. As well as many from my root countries (I am mixed) here in Asia. We respected you precisely because you had... whats the term? Ah, ''Balls''. Nobody gave a damn back then. You know the movie, Riddick? Seems an obscure example perhaps. This phrase: You keep. What you Kill. You have to understand it never was about RACE. It never has been. It's about IDEOLOGY. Thats why they say in America 'if you don't vote for me you ain't...black...' And they called Candace Owens an 'Oreo Biscuit' (Black on the outside, white on the inside) because she is black -- but has the wrong opinions and views. Getting it yet? They lied to you. To put an end to you. Nothing more or less. And if you don't get a grip of your pathetic country - the few of us out there willing to still carry a Union Flag in battle will be all gone. The battle honor of my grandfathers Regiment cannot carry you. That is not what they signed up for. I suggest you stop being so laughably weak. And start standing up for yourselves.

Rewarding mediocrity? Is that really what Society wants? Can you really pay someone with an IQ of 80 the same amount that you would pay somebody who has an IQ of 100? Can you exclude somebody with an IQ of 100 in favor of someone with an IQ of 80?

I still remember questioning the Büro for women‘s rights at my university in regards to its existence, seeing as we had 12 men studying amongst 250 veterinary medicine students, while at other universities the classes were 100% female. They came up with the ‚but the profs are mostly male‘ thing which was being handled by lawyers in most cases I heard of! Imagine my surprise when I later realized that there was still a 50% quota for women installed for German public veterinary positions, making sure any man that applied automatically got the job because they were desperately trying to find male vets. There comes a point where the situation that was being addressed by quotas has been resolved, and this is clearly another case where the point that was trying to be made has been achieved when both the First Minister and the Prime Minister a POC and Asians.
