Just not *a lot* I’d argue that’s closer to anti social behaviour. Which I can also relate so because I find myself looking for ways to not hang out with friends, and have to actively tell myself not to because it’s been weeks since I’ve seen any of them and I do want to see them but brain does brain. And you know what? It’s been a great time every time and I don’t regret going out, but brain still brains. So I get feeling like I don’t want to go out, but generally I’ve only felt better in the end for it. Do I think that makes me extroverted? Absolutely not because I’m exhausted afterwards and would like days to recharge before going out again (since I socialize at work to, that ends up being a factor, long day at work, deal with lots of people, something stupid happened and your talking to the manager, that’s all counts and drains my personal social “battery”) I like the battery analogy. It make sense from my perspective at least “extroverts recharge their social battery’s by socializing (those that struggle with shortish term isolation (think quarantining)) introverts recharge their social batteries by spending time alone (struggles with prolonged socialization/ extreme socialization (think service worker (drive thru/front desk worker, gas station attendant, cashier, etc) large crowds, conventions, concerts (they are fun and I love them but they are exhausting and I’d like a day or two to do anything by myself. Like I couldn’t do a music festival. But I can absolutely do a metal concert in a mosh pit for a day with a whole group))) Take it how you like but I understand the “socializing drains my batteries, I need me time to recharge.” As introverted. More or less. (Yes everyone likes alone time but put an introvert and an extrovert in lockdown together for a year and the extrovert goes stir crazy first, in my experience at least lol) TLDR: Main thing is we as humans need socialization. Introvert or extrovert. Just to differing degrees, to different tolerations, If you find yourself needing *none* at all. I feel that’s closer to anti social then introvert.

To all those people sinking deeper into depression: Be yourself, you'll find somebody you can talk to because there is always someone who will like you for what you are. Learn to love yourself and others will notice that and see that you're not insecure. If you like someone, go ahead, tell them, but be honest and don't expect something in return. What can you lose? The worst case is that the person doesn't want to talk to you anymore, but so what? Would it be better to be stuck at never ever telling them and secretly hoping that one day things will change? What could you gain from that? Be clear in what you want and act as if it were easy to get. But remember, always be respectful and kind, because it all returns to you one day!

I know the feeling. After so much time i quarantine me and my friends decided to meet up and I was so happy for like 15 minutes After that I felt just a void. So empty. This wasn't the only time I felt that void. It's always been there. Sometimes showing itself more sometimes showing itself less Thing is I dont know what to do to fill the void When I was in middle school noone talked to me and I felt lonely because I had no friends Now that I am in high school and I have friends I feel lonely because I feel like no one really sees the real me and I have to put on a mask because they wont accept the real me. Arguements at home don't really help either. They just make the void larger Sometimes I feel like I just want to sit in a corner and cry. I feel the whole weight of the world crushing me and I just want to let go. Yet I can't. I can't cry and I never had the courage to slide the knife. And even when I am with my best friends the void doesnt go away. Even when I tell myself that everything is alright it just isn't, Guys is this some kind of phase or should I be worried about somting. It's not like I'm not feeling happiness anymore. On the contrary there are days that I feel like the most careless person in the world. In fact those are most of my days. But the ones that I feel empty are just so crushing. And everytime there is a fight at home the void shows itself and doesnt hide for days, hell, maybe even weeks. And it's crushing. I don.t want to live during these days, but I keep telling myself that it will eventually get better. That I am better off alive than sitting in a puddle of my own blood. Also yes this might be a rant of sort, yes there will inevitabley be some edgy kids saying that noone cares and maybe they are right. Maybe noone does. But just writing this down, knowing that someone might see this and have an answer and might help me gives me hope and helps me move on.

this song really hits close to home for me. especially the ending line, "it's a day I'm glad I survived." that is how I hope to feel, and I'm still working on it. I haven't thought of acting on suicidal thoughts in a year now. it does get hard every now and then, but it does feel better at moments. I've had to learn it won't feel better forever, you won't just wake up cured one day. it's a hard reality to accept, but it's one that we have too. coming back to this song every now and then reminds me of that. the way the lyrics rise up to the part of what feels like you've finally accepted the fact that, yeah, it does get better, but you'll still have those moments of hurt. that rise up to that finally lyric at the end of this, is very warming. hearing it makes me feel like I can reach that point. this band has done so much for me, I'm just a teenager so yeah, I can't do much but, they have really helped me find myself, both mentally, and psychically. I finally look how I've wanted to and don't really care for the judgement. yeah, it hurts sometimes but oh well, that's just them being to worried my hair isn't a naturally occuring color. this band has really helped me. my dad first introduced me to them through BYOB. I'm not an expert, i'm not a pychologist, and i could be wrong, but since System Of A Down is open to all interpretations, and they themselves said that we could interpretate their songs the way we wish, here is what i think... I've had millions of days like these, i used to be a very loneley guy, and i know that activities such as Drawing, listening to music or playing chess, can be entertaining but... That doesn't fill that hole you still feel, that need that you just can't figure out what it is. For me, fire represents your own desperation, only you can see it, only you wish your neighboor opens his front door, comes out and says "Hello" Only you wish some kids decide to come out and play. Only you wish pepole had a reason to be out, like they used to be other days when you didn't wish for it or even wished the opposite. Fire is the representation of that feeling of loneleyness that no one cares about, and there is nothing anyone can do to put the fire down... It's just you and your loneleyness...the fire that only you can see.....that only you care about...

Well, now that makes sense, i guess that feeling he had in the moment, still leaved some scars, and i know what it feels like to be close to death, the difference is that everyone survived and it was water... To resume the story, me and my family where at the beach, we decided to go deeper into the water, but there was a red flag, we ignored it, and we where standing at the border of the sand, recieving the waves... Without knowing it, the waves where slowly carrying us away from the land, and at some point, we couldn't reach any land to stand on, then we realized that the waves where too strong to make it back, so while the rescuer was on his way, i experienced how it was to see your entire life, before your eyes... This of course was not helped by the fact that to this day, i can't swim... So, then the rescuer made it to us with some life savers, and took us back to the beach... Everything else was back to normal the rest of the trip, but i couldn't help but seeing it everywhere... And thinking what would happen if only i survived?, if only i died, what would happen if nobody survived? And i think that part of "And if you go, i wanna go with you, and if you die, i wanna die with you... Take your hand and walk away..." Expresses what i would feel if only i survived from that, i would have suicidal thoughts probably, but if i recover, it would be a scar that only made me stronger, just to realize that i want to live anyway... "It's a day that i'm glad i survived..."

Not even the slightest of suicidal. Proud of myself. Jan 26, 2020 Edit: thank you all for saying happy birthday to me. It means alot to me, especially since i am continuing to fight through the pain with this bipolar depression, and I wish everyone the best on their fight against their everyday demons. Edit: Feb 11, 2023, I haven't came to this song in about 3 years. I had did a lot of soul searching. I've found a passion in writing and I'm almost finished in college. Loneliness still creeps up and depression comes and goes but I don't let it defeat me. I cry and feel the feels and just move on. I'm in a better place mentally and this is without medication. Haven't took medication since 2015, the work was all on my own. Proud of me. And thanks to all who wished me a happy bday and came back to this day every year to do so. I am truly grateful to touch people hearts and inspired others to not give up. This world is truly Lonely but knowing that someone is feeling the same way as you, can make you feel less lonely.
