This is a heartbreakingly beautiful song. It is breathtaking, it runs the gamut of the whole human experience - of pain, of joy, of loss, of sorrow, of grief, but finally of the ineffable peace and bliss that comes with acceptance, with gratitude and with Grace - the peace that we are all headed towards. Grateful to HIM for giving you this song and to you for sharing it with us. My daughter and I are planning to learn it tomorrow. All the best.

Hi Syts. I don't how you keep up with comments, but if you ever read this I wanted to say I appreciate your style. You don't portray as some masterful pianist but you perform masterpieces that are simple and majestic. I played for years as a child, and got pretty good, but it was forced and when I could, I stopped and didn't play again for years. I decided to re-teach myself about a year ago (some 30 years later) and I picked it up surprisingly fast and jumped into learning 'recital' pieces. When I stumbled across one of your songs a couple weeks ago I loved it, bought your sheet music and found out it wasn't something only for someone who has been playing for decades. I picked it up fairly fast and will continue to work on learning your songs. Thank you for your beautiful music. And thanks for trying to teach your song. For me, its mostly about which fingers play certain notes and a few more complicated spots. Keep on putting out great songs!

I mostly play guitar but I’m learning piano now at 72 1/2 Years old. This music has brought joy to my heart and a struggle to my fingers lol. Thank you for trying to teach this. It has helped me a little. I hope your families doing well as can be. The new addition to your family must be a real blessing. God bless.

Jason, you are such a gifted musician/songwriter. As you know, I love so many of your songs, and have learned to play many of them, including Redemption (not that I am in any way a good pianist, having only started lessons when I was 36). I am so grateful that you've made the sheet music available for your songs. There are relatively few artists whose songs I can listen to over and over again, but I have listened to yours hundreds of times, some of them a dozen or more times in a row during the day. They just strike a chord with my soul. Thank you so very much for sharing your gift with the word.

Although I may be blind and I don’t understand much piano & music theory or lack the hand coordination to play this song myself, I suppose being able to listen to something as emotional yet inspirational, something that makes you shed tears but, somehow heals you emotionally and it’s Beauty that speaks for itself is just as…satisfying and is a gift itself. No other song that I ever heard of comes close to having the same power as Redemption has. Here I am, in a 5 week program that teaches the blind to live more independently and in a long time I’m around other people who are just like me. I just wish it could last forever because even though I’m usually the quiet one and I don’t have a strong connection with any of the other residents and I have yet to find true love, I almost feel like I belong somewhere for the first time in a while. Too bad I have to return home to my brother and father next Monday. Hopefully what I learned at this program will put me one step forward in my fight to reclaim my life and build my future. I just hope the power of Redemption will carry me through my birthday and the holiday season sense it’ll be my first birthday and holiday season without my mom sense she passed away from a heart attack and renal failure in March and she was only 58.

When I heard Redemption, it made me think of him. Your tutorial will allow me to build that bridge from my soul to his. I am at a loss for words. Music isn't about theory, it's about feelings. Your gift of Redemption is all about feelings. Someday I will see my son again. But for now, Thru your tutorial, I will start to build that bridge. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Jason, I became an independent writer in my old age and if not financially successful from the endeavor, I've derived intense personal pleasure and achievement from it. Would I be accurate in assuming you've also... yet to be discovered? I also enjoy almost all forms of music, from the classics and big band to acid rock, from ABBA to ZZ-Top. I recently stumbled across Ludovico Einaudi's Nuvole Bianche while looking for the right 'mood music' for a particular scene in a book I was writing. In a word, I found his music spellbinding. That, in turn, sent me searching for additional similar music. That's when I discovered 'Redemption.' Next, I listened to '50 Minutes of...,' and that set the proper mental mood to write a particular scene in the book. In my opinion, Jason, you're in the same league as Einaudi, and I wish you every (financial and professional) success in the future. Your lead-in to this tutorial brought to mind a particular, non-fiction book I wrote three years ago. The book is an autobiography of Ladell Allen Bonner (1894-1949), and the story of her life and afterlife. She dictated the story through clairaudience, and to connect with her, I had to enter a mindset similar to what Redemption creates. In so many ways her life parallels this music; she was so close to harmony and synchronization to lead a perfect life, always so close while so far away. ("My Voice," by Ladell Allen Bonner with Carl McLelland). Albigensiac (below) mentioned a suicidal girl he knew, who survived after listening to your music. Had Ladell been able to hear your song it's possible she might have completed her life as well. (She consumed mercury cyanide poison, Christmas night, 1948, and died in the hospital eight days later). I wrote Ladell's story for her, that others might avoid her mistake. It seems you've done the same with your music. There is no greater gift we can give, than giving of ourselves to others. Congratulations, and thank you for bringing pleasure to this old man....
@syts2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, Carl - I still have a day job. Also, I feel I'm far away from an Einaudi level of composing and playing, but I do thank you for the comparison - very kind of you! I wish you all the best with your writing and am thankful my music can help you out in someway.

Is it bad for me that I am practicing piano a lot and I’m getting a lot better but I’m only practicing with those KZbin videos that have the notes coming down the screen and I know very little about music theory myself I don’t even know how to read sheet music that’s more complicated than beginner do you think this is a bad way of learning?
@syts2 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on what your long term goals are for piano? Would you like to be able to sight read? Or do you just want to play songs you know to give your mind a break from the day? I've been playing for 15+ years, all self-taught, and can say that I am no where near the experience level, nor have the music theory knowledge, of a pianist who has studied and practiced that long. I bet there are children in their 2nd year of lessons who know more than I do. Sometimes that fact makes me feel like I failed - like I should've took lessons, tried harder. It makes me think how much better could I be right now? I guess I would say take lessons if you're really interested in sticking with piano in the future - because if I could do it over again, that's what I would do. I wish you the best with your musical journey!
