Punch didn't address the question. They're mismanaging her career. She's a R&B pop star that hasn't dropped in 5 years. And she's already in her thirties. We need to have an honest conversation about TDE being a mediocre label at best.

Rakim? BDK? LL Cool J? KRS-1? They are literally talking about legends not every rap artist.
@adude5136
@adude5136 Жыл бұрын
@@EverybodyHatesChrisNow The reason for that being that when those guys were out, Hip Hop hadn’t reached the peak of its commercial success. LL Cool J was super popular but even when he was the hottest new guy in rap he was touring nationally with the beastie boys. He wasn’t an international superstar. Meanwhile in 1963 the Beatles literally couldn’t go out in public in England or the US without being swarmed by teenagers. Rock n roll was the biggest music craze in the English speaking world. Rappers and honestly, Hip Hop in general really only got to that point in the 90s. You can guarantee that in 40 years people will be talking about Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr. Dre etc. in that light.

@@MichaelBrown-ti1un Though I know what @a dude is trying to say, it's just flat out not true. The kids don't still talk about Master P. Or Russell Simmons. MC Hammer. They're still talking about Jay, Snoop, Em, etc. because they're still relevant RIGHT NOW. Once they're not releasing music at all or only doing things behind the scenes, that's that. Bottom line is our culture doesn't go out of it's way to keep the kids understanding that having a sense of history can only be for the better in the long run. Hip hop fans under twenty five can't tell you about anything released before 1998 unless their parents used to bump it. A young kid trying to play rock will literally study the greats like the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Beach Boys, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, etc. before they're even thinking about going out for a record deal. Most young cats don't decide to rap nowadays and go listen to a bunch of Rakim, Kane, Kool G, Ultramag, etc. to work on their technique, delivery, flows and whatnot.

Yeah but the 80's and 90's rappers are now able to put together "Old School" tours. People love nostalgia so they'll go to those shows. There was a time before those artists were considered old school. They were already legends but were 10 years removed from their big hits. They were only able to eat overseas because American audiences don't check for artists that don't have current hits. Short attention spans and all that.

We don't celebrate the first 2 generations of Hip Hop because it's a result of the Self hatred that is instilled in original people due to the delusion of wight supremacy. It's frustrating to constantly hear conversations like this concerning the branches of a dead tree with no mention of the roots of said dead tree. No matter how one feels as an individual, it's apparent that as a collective, we hate each other whether it's unconscious or intentionally. That shit spills over in all aspects of life & keeps us from standing in unit. I learned this from reading "The Isis Papers" by Dr. Frances Cress-Welsing. Anyway, Punch needs to get SZA to finish up "A" to make the cypher complete.

All cities fall, as it is written. God can't lie, as it is written. My Word is good enough, as it is written. I'm a jealous God, as it is written. My name is Jealous, as it is written. Some nations ante up one my trillion for this one Drizzle. And he's King over the whole table of nations. I wake up to judgement everyday, as it is written. Shall everyone not know it? Well we'll see who believes on God, as it is written.

New York came with talented unique artist after artist. They hit a point where everybody sounded the same with the exact same words and clothes and it just wasn't popping. The super extra egos made it easy to not feel bad and the West, and then the South used the first game plan and put out talented unique artist with different slang and dress.

If A.C.M.D. 3 was released by any commercial artist, it would've easily won a grammy. Don't @ me.

This label is now the 'BlackGround' label to Artist. Holding their Artist to the very brink of destruction. Not even allowing their Artist to put out music to keep us listening. Just relying on one Album to serve as their Artist body of work. Where the Eps and unreleased? This Label will not stand as high anymore. They will loose their top Artist. Watch and Learn. It always happens this way. Artist will rally to leave TDE

Why does mecca keep pushing the issue on "old news" that don't even matter. Punch gave you an answer, now move on. Next topic. It make it seem as tho they were unprepared for this interview, or may he's reaching to try and cause some drama. Smh!

You clearly don't understand the history of TDE and how almost every artist on the label has dealt with issues from Punch withholding singles, albums etc. On top of that anytime he is asked about any of this over the years, he trolls.. Mecca needs to do this, atleast well have a chance to potentially get something, ANYTHING, out of punch.

Yeah, except he didn't give a direct "answer." Props to Mecca for not falling for the bs, and at least tryna get Punch to stop talking in vague circles. That kinda nonsense doesn't make for a good interview. And TDE still has a huge fan base that wonders all the time, on social media, why they have to wait 4, 5 and 6 years for their fav artists to drop. Valid questions and concerns
