Here's the thing. I've always loved SZA, but this song, in particular, has always resonated with me in ways that no other from her did. And I think it's because of how unapologetically introspective and poignant it sounds. In a way, she was able to precisely capture the feeling of being alone in your 20's. It sounds like being alone at a party while all your friends are with their respective dates. It sounds like taking the subway alone after the party. It sounds like wanting to be with someone so bad but also knowing it won't work out. It sounds like most of us feel: bitter, blue, confused, but somehow at the same time describes our feelings of nonchalant happiness, bountiful pleasure and juvenile restlessness. I don't know how she did it, but I think this song is a perfect millennial tune. I love her so much.

everyone's already said how this song is amazing, and drew barrymore's super casual walk-by & the sweet/knowing smile they gave each other was just perfect, but i really love the fact that _all_ she did was walk by in street clothes. the camera doesn't even pan to put her in full spotlight; she's not dressed in something flashy, not there to steal the show. just a beautiful moment in a fantastic video. sidenote, sza is probably one of the most beautiful people i've ever seen in my life.

I really appreciate that because that's what the song is about. It literally opens with a girl wallowing in jealousy but swallowing it because she's at a party with the guy she likes, no glitz, no glamor. this song means a lot to me. when this song came out, i was involved with this guy. he treated me like shit. but at the same time, i stuck around. it felt good. somehow, i thought it was working. probably i was blinded. and when this song came out, SZA sang "i get so lonely i forget what i'm worth, we get so lonely, we pretend that this works" & "lonely enough to let you treat me like this" i sorta realized, it was not working out. i stuck around because i was lonely. i had nobody at that time. it was a terrible time for me. so, i decided to get out rather than sticking around just because he was at the right place at the wrong time. and it was the best decision i made. thanks SZA.

Actress, author, director, model and producer a very successful woman. Now if her sure name sounds familiar to you, it’s because The Barrymores are a known acting family, they even were the inspiration for the Broadway and West End play The Royal Family, a play about the family’s domestic abuse, an internationally known family. Groomed to continuing on the family legacy she was thrown in the entertainment industry at 11 months old appearing in a dog food commercial, at the age of 6 She landed her first big role in the Sci-Fi classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and 2 years later she found herself gaining respect as an actress for her work in Irreconcilable Differences. As it turned out her art would soon to be reflecting her reality, parental neglect, mental issues, older men and substance abuse dominate her childhood while landing a string of successful movies. She was dared to take a sip of champagne at home this was a frequent occurrence at 8 years old, at 11 years old, she was a full blown alcoholic, smoking marijuana at 12 and cocaine snorting at 13, it even lead to her autobiography Little Girl Lost which she released at 15. Soon after she got engaged at 16, a short lived relationship that took its toll on Drew, she went through a lot of unsuccessful relationship and her 3rd divorce in august of 2016, one that she’s currently regretting.

The Islands In that case most men are whores. Lmfao. I'm not even a massive fan of SZA but as a man even I can see the hypocrisy in your statement. Literally every other rapper raps about fuckin bitches and doing drugs. If you look at it on a basic human being level, which should be the standard way of looking at things when it comes to gender bashing, male artists talk about fucking another guys girl every other song so unless you criticise all of them you have no moral ground to bash SZA like that. If you have such issues with morals and values then i'm assuming you don't listen to most male rappers right?

Jojo Saylor she really wasn’t ever hated. People felt so sorry for her and then rallied around her for a comeback. She was beloved in the late 90s up until now. It’s great how she overcame her addictions. That’s hard as hell to do.

At first I didn't like this song but the video really helped me vibe with it and from that I actually listened to the lyrics. It's a pretty sad song because she's saying that she is so lonely that she is willing to give up her morals and that she is forgetting how much shes worth just to have something with someone. Even if that someone only cares about the sex she brings to the table. Most of all, she's dealing with loneliness. This is exactly how I been feeling lately.

Warm” on the outside is a synonym for being physically appealing, while warm on the inside is a sexual innuendo. In both cases, SZA is challenging the expectations men place on her. Using the phrase “warm enough” as a way to empower females to question their insecurities originated with Nonameon her feature from Donnie Trumpet’s 2015 song “Warm Enough”: Who are you to tell me I’m not warm enough for summertime? In pop culture, Drew Barrymore has become synonymous with ideas of insecurity and pursuit for identity. In the late 1980s and 1990s she often played angsty teens in movies like Never Been Kissed and Poison Ivy. (From genius.com/Sza-drew-barrymore-lyrics)

Yeah, but Drew Barrymore has become synonymous with those ideas not just because of her roles, but also because of how abusive her family was and because she was drinking and doing drugs at, like, 10. That made her someone who represented insecurity and struggles.
