Please give the DeBarge family their due. The sample is 'I Call Your Name' by Switch in 1979. The older siblings Bobby and Tommy DeBarge were part of the group, they later became DeBarge when other family members joined in.

The original sample is Switch (the melody and beginning vocals) the drums literally are completely separate. The drums in 30 for 30 are from Rich Boy’s Throw Some D’s.

U hate when younger folks think they know something and don’t! This was sampled from the ORIGINAL, Switch, Bobby Debarge is the singer and song is I call your name. PUT SOME RESPECT ON THE DEBARGE’s name. They are royalty R&B and so is Switch!! Rich boy or Bryson Put some D’s on it sampled them!! And not the other way around. Kendrick is trying to hip y’all to R&B LEGENDS and at the same put money in our people’s pocket versus stealing their art for AI without permission!
