Maybe it used to be valid. However, any military embargo against Turkey will be detrimental to the embargo country in the long run. Because now Türkiye is trying to produce all the equipment that has been embargoed. This may cause projects to be delayed by a few years. But eventually they achieve this and embargoes are no longer useful in that regard. Moreover, in this way, Turks sell these products to other countries where the USA and other embargo countries do not sell them. That's just US embargoes becoming useless in other countries as well. This cycle continues to grow. In short, the USA thinks that it is harming Turkey in this way, but in the long run, Turkey becomes more profitable while the USA suffers much more loss. The same thing happens with the engine of the T-129 helicopter. Turkey's own 1400hp engine is about to be ready. It will be used in helicopters in 1-2 years. Then Türkiye will be able to sell T-129s to any country it wants. The most affected by this will be US companies that will not be able to sell engines.

USA allowed to resale the engines to Philippines but refused for so called Major Ally Pakistan. Indian intensive Lobbying against Pakistan & its influence in USA worked. As India is one of major military hardware buyer of USA.

Pakistan is no longer the "major" ally anymore. It was during 80's to 90's till USSR broke in Russia. International politics has changed from early 2000. Pakistan is only a regional ally now!

From killing of Pakistan's Liaqat Ali Khan Pakistan has a long record of betrayals received from US. F16 betrayel Pakistan made its own JF17. T129 betrayel Pakistan got Chinese & Russian helicopters. These betrayals now fire back to US & Pakistan is more self dependent. Drone betrayals & now Pakistan is a good drone producer & exporter.

Richard Armitage spelt in clear terms what it is to oppose the US. When China toes the line vis-a-vis Russian aggression in Europe, Turkey and a lesser power like Pakistan just obey the masters in Washington.

@@vinpatrel7517 given the current debt Pakistan has to china at $69 billion, the Pakistan has already turned themselves into a vassal of china. The Australians came somewhat close about 6 years ago but it's fellow democracy loving western allies brought the Aussies back into the fold.
