T-55 and up are also like that. If they angle that fueltank to face you, those will stop just about anything. If APFSDS goes through, they will absorb all of the shrapnel, and only the dart will get to the crew and usually, only one crew member gets hit

@CrazyDutchguys I've had the fuel explode by shooting HEATFS at it, but it's a different story with solid AP rounds like APFSDS, APDS, etc. Fuel never blows and just eats the round for the most part

Yep, same. Been grinding out T-64A whole week. Don’t get me wrong, that’s a great tank...with one big “but”: ANYTIME my fuel tank gets slightly touched, I combust like a celibate would from a girl’s touch. Sometimes an even funnier thing happens: you get shot, it hits your fuel, you stay alive for unironically about 0.5 seconds and blow up, the game telling you “Vehicle burnt down”. Makes my blood boil.

This is so useful that the rangefinder now names the model of the tank, or at least the type of vehicle. Now, if you see something in the distance, thanks to the rangefinder, you can understand whether it is an enemy or a stone.

I did the same with my BVM when I got it. I just got so fed up with the stock heat that I switched to full HE instead and honestly I did better with it than I had with Heat. Has the added benefit of being a lot more funny to use than heat, the way to go with the stock russian mbt grinds imo

Russian tanks kept HE (wich is actually HEFS lol) as a shell while every other country transcended to HESH or heatfs. HE is good shell with the big 120mm barels

An added benefit of using HE being that when you pen, you overpressure the tank, instead of having to fire seven additional rounds to kill the last crew member.

I will tell you once again how much ammunition you need to take on Soviet tanks so that they fit exactly into the automatic loader and so that you are as efficient as possible. For tanks of the T72 / T90 family, you need to take only 23 shells (20 sub-caliber and 3 high-explosive fragmentation. For tanks of the T80/T64 family, there are only 28 of them (24 sub-caliber, 3 high-explosive fragmentation and 1 rocket projectile). Guys, remember once and for all, ALWAYS TAKE HIGH-EXPLOSIVE SHELLS WITH YOU!
