This was my dad's favorite artist, he passed away in 2015 when I was 18 When the Paper Trail album dropped I was like 11/12 and my love for music was coming into full bloom, and I think Paper Trail was the first album I ever listened to all the way thru repeatedly, It was almost like EVERY song was my favorite song, one of his many classics I go to my dad's house and i'm messing with his stereo to try and get it to work and of course I go to playing my favorite album at the time. My dad walks in, hears me playing it and says, "whatchu know about that". And I look at him like "this is literally my favorite album right now" And that's when I learned T.I. was his favorite rapper, I knew he played alot of Urban Legend and Trap Muisk, King, but I never definitively knew that was his favorite rapper until that moment. For the remainder of the days God allowed him to have on this earth, our bond always grew stronger and stronger sharing our love for T.I.'s music. Tip is truly an amazing artist

Great interview, great commentary and discussion. This took me back to why The Breakfast Club became the phenomenon that you are. There is still value in doing quality interviews with guests separated from the talk speak that you hear a lot of times in creating what y’all have. The King did not disappoint… salute to the OG.

T.I is one of the G.O.A.Ts. Street hits, southern hits, music in video games, had his time as the #1 rap artist, and has always remained humble. Legacy untouchable.

Besides 2pac T.i. my favorite Rapper especially being from the South. Rest up to Uncle Pimp cuz he was the OG of the South to me and he checked everybody especially if they repped the South to see how true they were. Lastly, I can't believe it's been 20 years since "Trap Muzik" another funny thing next year makes 20 years for "Urban Legend" too. Respect to the King 👑 of the South for holding down the throne and staying Southern Royalty 👑💯💯

I grew up in the Geto Boys, UGK, 8Ball & MJG era but I stopped listening to the South because I wasn't a fan of the whole 3-6, No Limit, Cash Money era. Trap Muzik is what brought me back. That's why TI always has my respect.

TI started the genre that is trap music in 2003. Jeezy took what TI did & brought the genre to new heights in 2005 with TM101. Gucci may not have been the rapper or made the music like the other two but Gucci was more influential as far being an A&R & having an ear to the streets. there was a point in time where you didn’t make it out the A without having a Gucci co-sign in one way or another. & then there’s Future who debuted in 2010 & was the bridge from the mid to late 2000s into the 2010s & changed the genre from being an act/verb into more of a sound. Future brought the autotune/melody/pain music that we’ve grown to love over the last decade or so. the 4 pioneers of the genre & ATL wouldn’t be where it is today without them

TI started a genre of RATING
@qtippz Жыл бұрын
- Tip started it, coined the term "Trap Music/Muzik" and laid the blue print down. - Jeezy along side his producer Shawty Redd gave the genre a signature sound and propelled it to a higher level. - Gucci became the A&R and poster child of the genre.

I always felt that T.I. and Jeezy style of Trap music was more suitable for the NY audience. Their style was the bridge for NY to take Southern Rap artists more seriously while Gucci stayed more "homegrown"

My Favorite Songs on TRAP MUZIK: 1. Doin My Job: I use to work at Lenscrafters and blast this in the Lab when I was making prescription glasses. 2. Bezel: Bun B snapped on this record. 3. Let me tell you sumthin: This is the perfect summer time love song from a trap boys perspective. 4. Be Easy: Just solid advice with a piano.

Good on TI for speaking to his OG’s/Elders. Such great respect we should all have for all of our predecessors… 3Stacks: “Well what does it really mean to be King”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Exactly what I would expect him to say! And exactly why we love him. And just in case anyone cares Foreboding: fearful apprehension; a feeling that something bad will happen. Not at all what CTG meant!🤣
