Dear Janice, this is a beatiful love poem by Latvian poet Paulīna Bārda. Tāls ceļš Paulīna Bārda (1890-1983) Es mīlu tevi nakt’ un dien’ Kā zvaigzni tālās debesīs Un skumstu tikai par to vienu, Ka mīlēt mūžs man dots tik īss. Tāls ceļš līdz spožai debess pļavai, To man mūžam nenoiet. Vēl tālāks ceļš līdz sirdij tavai, Kas man kā tāla zvaigzne šķiet. Līkst augstu gaisā debess loks, Un dzidra gaisma lejas, Stāv pasaule kā ziedošs koks, Sirds mulst un raud un smej.

I just heard this performance brought on my local NPR station (in Fort Pierce, Florida). What an amazing piece of composition! What a beautiful and magical performance! Ēriks Ešenvalds and Arvo Pärt are quickly becoming my two favorite contemporary composers!!
