There is no proof or historical evidence that substantiate St. Thomas visited India. He brought no liturgy. It was Church of East headquatered at seleucia- ctesiphon (Nesthorian church) that Evangelized india around 4th or 5th century. It was their liturgy (of Mar Mari and Mar Addai) that was being used by faithfuls in india till 15th century. And Church of east is a nesthorian church who revere and regard mother mary as mother of christ . Then portuguese catholics came(jesuits) and forcebly and by using financial means converted these faithfuls of nesthorian church into people of catholic church . This was how syro malabar church came into existence.During the same time parent church of this indian nesthorian church which was headquareted in selucia teziphone in iraq was divided by the malicious activities of franciscan missionries of catholic church in order to bring this church under pope.

It seems Tamil and Malayalam are the same language with different writing and dialect. Many places are more Tamil rather than Malayalam. Malayalam seems to have absorbed a lot of Sanskrit and Hindi. It could be because of some immigration or trade relationships due to spice trade etc
