Jay, i love this vlog. i read through about 300 comments, will read the rest tomorrow. I am so surprised by the variety of comments. A few i disagree with. But that's good. We can share our opinion and love each other when we are not afraid to share our opinion, as we did after dinner.
Laozhangren, not sure if you realized that Google translates “老丈人”(Laozhangren in Mandarin) to “old man”, which is quite misleading. It should have been “father-in-law (from the wife’s side)”. So these Chinese guys are not being rude in the comments but it’s just Google being stupid LOL. I like your hair style btw.

That’s up to America. China is getting more powerful that is reality, it’s unreasonable to expect them to stunt their own growth so America can remain on top. If your neighbour told you to stop making more money so you wouldn’t be richer than them, you would tell them to F off.

Ari, Could I beg your help for us(my family)? Can you ask your husband to take a Vlog in which it can show all of your whole family members to come together and make your hand maked Chinese moon cakes on next Moonlight Festival( Mid.Autumn Festival,中秋節),我們家,你的粉絲,正期待着下一年的中秋節,你們能為我們辦到此節目!!😊😊 Ari, you can translate the above Chinese I wrote to your husband with google and read it, you can understand more about my meaning and my hoping!

You guys are doing great job! And show the audience the beautiful things together with family. And bridging the cultural gap from west to east. OMG! I didn't know much about Chinese culture either until I got there for a while, learn the truth, learn the culture, tried the food and cast away all the misperceptions about China spreaded by the American news. Anyway, yes, Chinese people, Indian people, Iraq people most Asian respect our parents. Can you believe that we are still living together with our parents even after got married? May be in general, new generation in China not like that, but still in India and Iraq have this tradition. And we feel great! We don't need to make an appointment to have dinner together with our parents or traveling back to hometown in new year or big holiday 😅 lol. Btw, by living together with parents, we as their children can take them a good care (in case they got sick), help out the monthly utilities bill (water or electricity), etc. ^^ I'm glad to subscribe to your channel. Such a powerful message. Best regards to Ari, Jay, mama, papa, meimei and meifu. From Iraq

Ari's family is well educated, open, and loving. This is quite typical in small towns. Hope we all can learn something from them.
As a Cantonese we use a bit of glutinous rice and white rice to make the traditional Cantonese congee. As a matter of preference I personally prefer it to be more watery then gluey especially when eaten with Chinese yutiao. Jay and Ari family members are super cool which one can only dream of having. Nothing is more precious than family.
So did you bow or kowtow when you saw them? In Singapore, we must do it otherwise we will get wack

Please do not be so naive, Americans like to only present the good side. Usually white Americans gets more privilege in the USA. Other races are mostly treated like shit. So wake up and not be fooled by this video.
Lao Zhang Ren got really sharp eyes. You are absolutely right. Chinese values are very close to traditional American values. It's why so many of us came here and seeking for our American dream. It's also why we are sad to see how America was changed for the past few decades and where it was sliding to with all these political correctiveness, all the pride movement, riots, etc. It's getting scarily more close to where we were escaping from.

I heard of your KZbin videos from a friend but never bothered to check and watch until I came across your videos and I just could not take my eyes off them. Ari has a very good family. She was raised well. She's pretty and she is so pure and natural. Her parents are so nice and kind-hearted. They appreciate Chinese culture and take you in as one of their own. I love the way they appreciate the Chinese food you cook for them, they ooched and aahed with all these expressions on their face. The whole family is so nice. I studied in Kansas in the late 80's and I love the people in the Mid-west because they are so friendly and down-to-earth, and they still maintain traditional values in them. I really hope your parents-in-law will have a wonderful time in China. I know they are having a wonderful time in China, which makes me happy and proud of my home country. I hope you and Ari and Xiaodufu will have a happy.

I love youtiao with jook. Perfect combo. Most of the American stereotypes are true to a certain extent, but it's great that as the US has moved forward in to the 21st century, many people in the states have become more bilingual or even multi lingual in some cases.
American culture is so good for the family members. Love the Ari and Jay family so much. People are comfortable together.

I agree with Ali that almost of the Chinese parents are strict, this is because for the Chinese the most important for children is the education. China is a big country with huge population, the resources are limited so you have to compete with others since probably from kindergarden time. But good to see in last 20 years more and more Chinese parents also hope besides to let their children " to be successful" they care more about what´s the initial interesting of the children. To be useful and helpful to this world and mentally feel affluent is getting more important.
