Watching this you now know where the new romantics look came from in the 80s ! Marc Bolan a man way ahead of his time !!

As huge as he is--he's STILL under-appreciated.

Yes i couldn't agree more. I absolutely adore T-Rex. 'Standing on your porch, you wear your pleasure like a torch'. Fabulous. They don't write 'em like that anymore.............

Just about everything Bolan did was supertuff!!! If only U.S. would've played more than 2 or 3 songs, what if?

I think he was murdered. Maybe that would make a difference.

Brian you are right but its his own fans that have a dig at him after 73 some fans think his music went down hill because tony quit and some fans only like tony more than the band its ridiculous to think you prefer tony over Marc I have never known anyone to prefer the producer over the composer before what the hell is that I really don't understand it, I love everything Marc has written!

In my opinion , popular music is the greatest of all the art forms , it is music made by us , made for us , and very often about us , and Marc Bolan and T Rex are up there with the very best !!
@tarabrightstar6 жыл бұрын
This is amazing. It proves Bolan was far more than just a teenybopper idol. He was a true musician. He sounds and looks amazing here. I love that he ditched all the posing and pouting and just rocks. Why he ever went back and did the whole Marc show malarky is beyond me.

Back in the days when the UK only had 3 television channels this was broadcast on ITV peak time on a Saturday night. Pretty much unheard of at the time for rock music to be featured this way. Bolan was back with a bang!!

I'm surprised to see Steve Currie still on bass- I thought Herbie Flowers was on bass by this point. AC/ DC were the support act on this show according to bassist Mark Evans in his book "Dirty Deeds", and Leapy Lee was also on the bill. Great to see a live performance like this.
@AcePanno16 жыл бұрын
Yes, Malcom Young from AC/DC was a big Bolan fan apparently

I’ve been so fond on Marc’s music since hearing ‘ride a white swan’ aged 11 and own every album and single that he released. This performance has got to be just about the best musically and vocally that I’ve seen.So focused but with probably the least sense of ego but a real wanting to offer a perfect performance.So sad that he died after becoming slim and drug free, a completely different man to what he was over the two previous years and he simply found ‘marc’ again. I wonder what both he and all of us have missed out on as he was such an individual and creative artist.
