Marc knew more than 3 chords. Here’s a quote from writer/musician Rikki Rooksby in response to this video “I wouldn’t give the KZbin guys the time of day, but I’ll add if there was a chord songbook of Marc’s songs, starting from 1968, it would need about 20 chord boxes.”
@whitebirchtarot2 жыл бұрын
Marc Bolan has been my favorite musician, singer, songwriter, poet, and performer since I was 14 and I’m now 67. No one will ever equal the amazing lyrics he wrote, the music that it’s impossible not to move to, the unusual, yet compelling voice, and the most innovative and progressive music I’ve ever heard. Bowie went through a lot of changes yes, but Marc‘s music changed more than anybody else’s in the history of music. If you can find any lyrics in any songs anywhere that come close to what Marc wrote, you get a golden apple. Because you won’t find any. As the British say, and I’m not British, your video is absolute twaddle. No one is perfect, but Marc came damn close. I’ll be listening until the day I die.

The idea of Rock N Roll is that kids should be able to jump up onstage with only a starter level of competence. That was true in the 50s as much as punk, two generations of kids left disenfranchised by Modern Jazz in the 50s and Prog Rock in the 70s. I wish Sebastian Horsley, the infamous British dandy who passed away in 2010, was still around to debate you guys. He worshipped Marc Bolan and T. Rex, especially the song "Cosmic Dancer." That would have been a classic debate, as you guys seem to view music and its purpose through a completely different prism than Horsley did. He saw music's function being to release us from the boredom of existence. And I agree, Marc Bolan was seldom boring.

Very over-rated band. I tried, but they just dont have the songs. At least 10 albums and only a handful of good songs. Jeepster, Bang A Gong and the one from "Futuristic Dragon". I can leave the rest. You guys are spot on. "Electric Warrior" shines because Tony Visconti produced the hell out of it. He can't save it though.
