This is a very sturdy and well built mower. I thought I wouldn't like the foot operated speed control but after one use kzbin.infoUgkxTZSPVwJFBv2hORqhQamtxi-tAe5K2EtC , I can't believe I ever had one without it. It drives like a car with an automatic transmission. Easy to adjust mowing speed according to grass depth/thickness. I have yet to get used to the long throw of the blade engagement lever but kind of get why it is that way. It allows you to hold mowing for short moments if you need. The engine seems very substantial and the frame has very little flex, both adding up to an impressive package. All my previous tractors were 18 to21 hp with 42in decks. This one is 23/46. I mow about 1.5 acres about every 5 days here in Alaska and that mowing time has been reduced by about 20%, partly due to the very tight turning radius. No loop arounds lol. Hour meter, cruise control, reverse mowing capability,deck cleanout and easy assembly all add up to a very well thought out tractor.

What hydro does the t2290 have? According to kubota the 48” have a hydro gear 730 and smaller decks have a lesser hydro

Aside from the tire size, you missed the big purported difference between the T2290 and the lesser models, the 48” deck models have a Hydro Gear g730 (respectable) whereas the lesser models are not the same.

Good presentation. I have questions regarding reliability since a lot of the earlier models required a ton of warranty work. It appears Kubota redesigned these around 2016 and they appear to have improved a lot. Is that true or are you still doing a lot of warranty work on models after 2017? Second question is I have about a 20 degree incline to blow snow in my driveway of approximately 100'. Will this machine perform well having all that weight in the front with the blower and get up that hill since with this model one is, I am told, unable to use chains? I would appreciate a reply please. Winter is coming and is going to be bad here in the Northeast. Thank you

I would recommend a GR and its AWD and time there is a hill involved the GR is the way to go.

Both pedal systems work fine, the new 2 pedal system seems to operate flawlessly with it taking less effort for it to return to neutral

It seems that all riding mowers are for grass. Are there any out there that can cut weeds that are 2 ft tall and almost an inch thick? Having a fully enclosed deck just pushes down the weeds such that the blades can't cut them.

I was surprised to see the gr series had stamped decks and the t series had fabricated but that said the stamped decks still looked heavy gage. Thanks nice mowers

I have a b2620 with the same deck and I will say one thing it’s an amazing cutting deck really does a nice job with very little build up underneath

I always wanted the GR2120. But when I finally went to website to build and price, there was no selection for 21hp diesel. Did Kubota change the engine size of GR2120? Build your own selection shows 17.5 hp. However price has increased. All engines on these riding mowers seem to be on smaller end of hp scale compared to even box stores.

This just came from Kubota Canada: We would like to inform dealers and sales staff across Canada of Kubota’s adoption of revised Gross Engine HP Rating Standards. When it comes to the smaller Diesel Engines in the GR and BX for example, the posted HP has decreased whereas, in the case of the MX and M60 Series, the posted HP has increased. What is critical to navigating this rating change with customers is understanding that the Rated PTO HP specifications have not changed. Hope that helps
