I find it strange you do not see leadership as for the ahlulbayt (Alayhum As Salam), or even for the Quraysh, I wonder what Zaydi views you do hold?

I hold the early Zaydi views, when qasim al Rassi is asked by his son "did the Prophet appoint Imam Ali in a clear explicit manner?". al-Rassi replies "he alluded to him". This means that the Prophet indicated towards (Ali) which is a dalala, not a divine appointment

One of two things is the case, that Imam Ali (Alayhi As Salam) uniquely fulfilled the qualifications, or he didn't. If you say he didn't, then you have reduced what you call The Messenger of Allah's ﷺ وآله "allusion" to Imam Ali اليه السلام to an error, and if he did, then it was obligatory to support him. Finally, Imam Zayd (Alayhi As Salam) himself held that the hadith restricting Imamate to Quraysh was valid, and I never knew an Imam from ahlulbayt عليهم السلام who doubted this. But you are suggesting preferring the ahlulbayt عليهم السلام is invalid, despite revelation indicating they are the second weighty thing which will not part from the Quran until the Last Day, and all evidence indicating that in every era they were the best of the ummah, and whom else except the best of the ummah should be placed in charge of the Muslims? and Allah knows best
