TØYEN PARKRUN REVIEW Event

Hey, just for anyone watching. I did this park run this morning. They must have changed the course as it’s now 3.5 laps total. In a circle. The U-turn mentioned is no longer a thing. Whole parkrun has 70M elevation. It climbs and then drops so permitting you pace the downhill to recover in time for the uphill it’s enjoyable. 90% on tarmac, little on grass. Numbers have increased, hitting 200ish now. Thank you to all the volunteers! You’re the true hero’s of parkrun!

Hey thanks so much for the comment! I will pin it to the top so others know! I think the course I did may have been a winter course and then they shortened it as there is a slippy area 😄 Still a hefty elevation by the sounds of it! I really enjoyed it too. 200 now! Wow that’s great to hear, I went around Easter so that may have reduced the number of locals too as they go up north to their lodges (what one of the locals told me). Thanks again for the comment! I did this parkrun last year, it was rather repetitive and hilly, like you said. A mass of Scottish parkrunners when I was there are Scotland were playing Norway at Football.

Oh nice! Yeah it is a repetitive run for sure. Scottish taking over the parkrun 😄 It looked like an entertaining game to go watch with 6 goals! I wanted to go and watch one of the European qualifiers for Norway friendlies vs Czech but unfortunately I left a day early for it.

The gravel has now been swept away and their sister event Nansenparken parkrun (also in Oslo) is actually all tarmac and flat so if you prefer that, check that one out 😄

I love travelling so I went to explore Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki for the first time 😄 I have actually vlogged my visit so that will be out in a few weeks time. Next weeks parkrun is in Helsinki 🥶 Yeah crazy fast! I don’t know how they do it 😮
