I have a lot of questions. I wish I could sit down and talk to you both about all this too. Long story but my daughter is gay and wonderful. Good kid. I knew the second read her letter coming out that eventually she would need to step away from church but it was still hard and Heavenly Father shows me every day how short I come as a parent. I hear your story and am emotional. I love God and Jesus and the church third. I wish we could change the term leaving the church. What if we were so converted to the Jesus of the restoration that it was more painful to leave him than this idea of the church. We do a poor job of teaching a deep love of Jesus I feel. You guys seem like unicorns in a way. How unique are your personal experiences when it comes to your desire and deep testimony that never seemed to leave completely? My perception is that people leave but don't regret it. The last blessing my daughter let me give her I blessed her to wander and hopefully find her way back. I felt strongly about that idea of wondering for her in the blessing then but it haunts me a bit since o watched my brother wander and he still is from my myopic view. I'm the bishop right now and it's been interesting to say the least. Great discussion really.... sounds like vodka played an important role too!

Mascot, you are currently the bishop? What are your feelings on a prophets words? Should we only care what the current prophet says? Are you aware of what President Kimball said regarding homosexuality? If Kimball was wrong, how can we give credibility to the current prophets words?

@@nickdipaolofan5948 In my opinion nothing is gained in pitting prophets against each other. I think that when you Nick try to do that you set yourself up as a prophet seeking to show people the truth as you see it. All the prophets have been through a process of refinement we haven't been through and we don't have a clue about their real experience. They have spent their lives serving and in not in any way interested to engage in a conversation that seeks to sow discord. Good luck brother. Please seek greener fields to work in other than mine. My flag is firmly planted.
