Every time you use the pencil's i get more confident and inspired to use them more and more on my own models!

Hey Vincent. I am finding that more that I use them the more that they become another "comfortable" tool in my box.

Pukka paintwork,the layers really did their job.For priming PE I use the graphite based Mr metal color -Dark iron,it’s tough and self levels to a micro thin layer.If it does chip you have a dark metallic colour underneath.
@RickLawlerPropaganda2 жыл бұрын
I haven't use the Mr color series, but it sounds like it might be a good alternative. Thanks for the tips!
@darronhedges58732 жыл бұрын
@@RickLawlerPropaganda Out of the Mr metal color range the dark iron is a unique formula.With it you can recreate a jet black metallic to a polished steel.It’s brush paintable too as it’s a buffable metallic.You get different results depending on how much you shake the bottle.Saved my life while building “interior kits”.You can create three or four distinct metal “shades” from it.And being graphite pigment it’s very thin but tough.

Hello! Do you add any gloss varnish into AK RC paints? I’ve tried them and in my opinion these paints are too matte
@RickLawlerPropaganda2 жыл бұрын
I don't generally add gloss to the RC paints. Adding a light application of the thinner before beginning helps to set the surface for the oils so that they don't "stain" and for easier blending.
@Emtbtoday2 жыл бұрын
I got 2 AK pencils in my red primer weathering set there completely different from the weathering pencils there stored in clear plastic tubes one's beautiful graphite and the other is a white chalk for writing in factory markings when vehicles in the factory but was getting at is the AK chalk is good for doing the marking

One question: looking over your workflow, do you ever use washes or set a step specifically aside for asking washes/pin washes to outline the different features?
@RickLawlerPropaganda2 жыл бұрын
Jacob. Short answer is no. I tend to work on everything at the same time...the oils aid in that process. In general, I will be adding color, shadow, highlights...etc., all during the same pass.
@jacobrichards83592 жыл бұрын
@@RickLawlerPropaganda I think I may try that approach. Call it my 30s getting to me or having kids, but I'm tending to slow down on my work and really "sculpt" my models now.
@ivanbordignon7878 Жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, very intresting video. As long I can see, un your models you don't use the "tradicional" pin wash. Are you covering this step in the oil paints step? Thanks
@RickLawlerPropaganda Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. Yes, the oils allow for all of the necessary shading, or highlights along panels without "tranditional" methods...so to speak.
