Interesting, I posted a message but it didn't show up. So I will try again. I was planning on designing and fabricating a simple current reference but then I saw your video. I ordered an R6144 on eBay from Japan and I easily found an English user manual online. Price seemed good and it looks in mint condition. It is always dangerous for me watching your videos because I end up buying equipment. As usual Tony thanks for the videos.

Hi John, hope you are good, great you found a R6144, yes manuals are now good available on the known websites. let me know when you have it and need some information. i will copy the firmware, because i think i have one of the latest.

@@TonyAlbus Tony, Thank you for the kind offer. When I get it I will check the firmware and if I have a newer one I will be happy to offer you the same service. Should be here the end of April or first part of May.

@tony, I have replied to your replies twice, but these do not show up. Sorry for that. Thanks for you suggestion. Started looking. Found fluke 510A to be with extremely low THD, and SWR200 chip (expensive) at Mouser, and 10eur 8th order low pass filters from Maxim that can at least help producing a perfect sine. Keep up your good work!!

Hi Peter, Thanks. about the comments, YT just deletes everything that has and url in it. no matter what my setting is, i allow all comments, i allow all urls, but still they know better. The spam system is to strong, i have no control over it.

Moin Moin, calibration is easer if you enter the value you measure. In calibration mode press data than enter the value you measure and press data again. If your value is - than press the plus button (polarity).

I bought the other one on marktplaats a week ago form another seller than you did. It was out of spec on 3 ranges, but I succeeded in calibrating it with a calibrated meter from my employer. I found the same issues with the device over- and undershooting. I've not opened it up yet and I think I will leave it as the nameplate says: R6142. Curiously mine has a different firmware version 02.01. Not sure if it impacts performance but might want to upgrade when I feel like it.
@TonyAlbus Жыл бұрын
Oh that was you, yes there were two... my seller had 3 of then, also firmware 02.02 and he told me the he could find no change in operating and behavior, lots of times those firmware updates are GPIB compatibility thing, bus could also be more. let me know if you want me to make a copy of my firmware.. the eprom is in a socket.

Tony, I am looking for a precision 50Hz sinusoidal AC voltage source. 5 or 10V fixed would do. Adjustable would be a bonus. Do you have recommendations? I like your diy DC voltages sources. Not sure if AC models exist
@TonyAlbus Жыл бұрын
Hi peter, there is that Matrix AC source, but its not really precision.. : kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIalfGqam5mAma8 so then i think you are maybe looking at AC calibrator, have a look on ebay. some nice older Fluke AC calibrator/sources are around, but not cheap.
@TonyAlbus Жыл бұрын
Still have the idea the add a 10turn pot to the Matrix i have (on the bcp is a finetune)and then adjust in with an external 6.5 multimeter to set it spot-on... but that idea also kind of went away now i have the Fluke 5100 Calibrator.

Hi Tony, nice catch 👍 I have a question, isn't it an offset adjustment rather than an actual calibration? I have a similar function with the digital programmable thermostat - adaptation to the manufacturing tolerances of the sensors. Nice day 🙂Tom

Thanks! , yes its calibration.

This voltage sources reclaim that are able to generate as low as 1uV. Is this true? Did you test that?

i would not trust mine below 100uV
