Hi Tony, you have it beautiful, it fits perfectly, I will have to stick with my resistive shunts if I need a heavy load. Edit: Stamos I have a soldering station - hot air + pen and it works fine. Nice day 😉 Tom

I appreciate your sharing of the rebranding research. Way of the world these days. I can excuse the loud fans on my 1990's gear; but why can't they now spend a few more bucks on the fans for quietness? Gone are the days of available schematics and theory of operation manuals. Oh well, it's all microprocessors now. Have you tested the loads' frequency response against their spec's? Might that be an important issue? Your racks are getting denser! Thanks.

Great video! A quick question, assuming I was working with 15VDC, does the 1500W rating on this load translate to an ability for it to handle around 100A continuously, in the real world? 73

Good question, to be honest, that was my thought exacly. but the max current is still 40Amps .. becouse it is limited to the current shunt used in the main unit. later on in this video in the teardown i explain a bit more. it is a pity indeed the 40A limit. but it least you can now run 40A upto 37 volts.

@@TonyAlbus Thanks for the great reply! What I really want is a high current load for doing work under 15 volts. Would that Chinese unit you picked up recently do a better job of lower voltage high currents?

@@mostlypostie1 The EastTester ET5301 i have, can do 60A indeed, but it is only 400Watts , so that is at 60Amps only 6.6 Volts. With a better Current shunt, the Korad could easy do it, if you look how it is build. compair to the EastTester with only 6 FETs foor 400watts at 60Amps.. i wonder how fast that goes into smoke :) .. lets see.

Hi, not that i know of, but i need to play more with it. usualy those stats you do with the PC connected or via CSV export. then you make a graph.
