Years ago, a manufacturer of heavy tube amplifiers, in Tennessee (US), and the CEO was a friend of mine, started using the same white foam. They had to build the thickness up then, too. However, as heavy as those were, say about 18 kilos for the power supply, none were damaged in shipping after that. I just received a Fluke 6061 RF Gen. packed that way with no damage whatsoever. It's good stuff. I'm telling you, the Rigol looks spookily similar to the LeCroy WaveRunner; the Siglent, not so much. Attention: In vector mode or normal mode (wfm/s) are 120.000 (Siglent SDS822 and 824 XHD) and 30.000 (Rigol) not 1.000.000. In acquisition or sequence mode 500.000 (all 12-bit Siglent) and 1.000.000 (Rigol). So in normal vector mode the Siglent is 4 times better to find your glitch then the Rigol. (WARNING: Siglent DHO804 is 80.000 wfm/s in vectromode). So inconvient that you didn't have a short recording of the fan noise. It's a upper for the Rigol but it seems that sometimes it smells a bit plastic (watch other videos). The Rigol is very neat and slim and the Siglent is bulky. But the equations of BW, Sampling and memory are better. The Rigol has 200uv/DIV vertical but where can I find its noise level at maximum bandwidth? Siglent claims 70uV at 70MHz. I don't know if Rigol (without S) provides afoortable Generators. Siglent does from around 200 euro you'll be able to buy and make bode plots. Some convert FFT to bode plot. The Siglent has 2Mpoints twice as much as The Rigol Series. The Rigol has better probes! and low noise and better vertical. But please read the reviews and comment below before you decide. Hi Tony, I noticed in this video that it was incorrectly presented that the Rigol oscilloscope is worse. Namely, when comparing the two oscilloscopes, in the part where the FFT capabilities were compared, around the 22nd minute of the video, the Siglent oscilloscope clearly showed the harmonics, while on the Rigol oscilloscope they were somehow “merged”. This is because on the Rigol, the resolution (RBW) was set to 1MHz, and on the Siglent RBW was set to 395.51 kHz. This is clearly visible in the video. If the Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) was set appropriately, I am sure that the Rigol oscilloscope would have displayed the signals perfectly on the screen! Best Regards
@TonyAlbusАй бұрын
Hi, thank you for your comment, the presentation is just the presentation, the conclusion is for the watcher. i do agree that a default on RBW of 1 MHz is a bit of a strange value to chose, but that is on Rigol, not on me.

Make sure, that the trigger actually triggers on every edge. And see which scope can capture the longest, without missing one single edge. My SDS814X HD maxed out at 620ms (500MSa/s). The Rigol seems to have loads of options but I find the interface a little too cluttered/unintuitive but its also a matter of getting used to of course. Form factor is actually nice, it will fit to a Vesa wall mount/monitor arm which could be convenient but in most cases could stand just as well as the Siglent. As mentioned before, the X-Y mode probably works just fine as with the Siglent, its most likely indeed due to the memory depth setting which is not enough to make the full drawing therefore giving the impression of a trigger issue. It's a shame the Rigol DMM858, which has the same form-factor as this Rigol scope, turned out to be such an abomination of a multimeter because they go really nicely together and prices are good.

Sorry to hear that, i read the same in the comments about Rigol, i hope these are expeptions. Expensive equipment i try to buy from a local retailer or very well known webshop, so when problems arrive i can call the retailer and not needed to go after the producer itself. Still i think they need to offer support directly too.

Same thing I can say with a Rigol. No replies to e-mail after many attempts.

@@norbert.kiszka They replied, they just refused to help. It was a $500 new power supply that had a design defect. It worked fine for about 4 months, then started boot looping. They knew it was a problem but refused to tell me what was wrong. I finally figured out it was an under spec'd rectifier. I replaced it with a bigger one, and it has been fine since.

@@moki123g not only China companies are like that. They don't give a s... Especially employees which does first contact with You. Their job is to keep their job - nothing more and nothing less. You can chose Rigol, Keysight, Tek or anything - all of them makes a cr*p in last couple years. So You can chose between bad and between bad.
