Taake - Doedskvad II (violin cover)

I recently watched a video where Hoest said he wished he knew how to play violin, so that got me thinking...
Everything about the Doedskvad album is so unique! Here are my favorite riffs...
00:09 - such a non-traditional metal riff with a springy, playful feeling.
01:53 - the 2nd half of this song is where things really kick into gear. Love these trills.
02:16 - this riff really opens up the song with it's long strides. Though I think I did a better job with the reprise at 04:15
02:59 - this is one of best riffs on the entire album! It has such a triumphant feeling.

Man I totally remember you from last fm if memory serves. Last I knew you were in Texas? You were into Shostakovich and deathspell omega I listened to a load of agalloch and tenhi but tastes have definitely stayed dark. Probably moonlight sorcery, Elffor, Ethereal Shroud, new Nile!! Haha this is crazy. Last.fm seems like a lifetime ago. I remember you though. I still enjoy the heck out of DsO and Shostakovich, though these days I might say that my favorites are Fluisteraars and Bartok. Cheers man, hope you’re doing well.
