Actually I don't think he realized it until the boom caught up to him. Then he started rowing real fast seeing that cloud moving toward him.

Visited Taal in late 1970s when the entire area was a lush place and people lived all around the crater. Must be a lot different now!

Yeah after it erupted in 2020 it destroyed every single plant animal and evaporated every drop of water on it
@scrappydoo78878 сағат бұрын
Its very similar to accidental dropping of molten metal onto concrete. It'll definitely create a bang that you dont want to experience again

I saw the eruption the other day. It was definitely large. Definitely magma/water driven.

Compared to a VEI 7, the index 4 it produced in 2020 was pretty small. It would be cool to see a volcano like this go bigbadaboom, but it would be better if it was some very remote volcano, located where very few people live. Great that no one was injured in the plinian eruption.

@iselfidentifyah64eapache5 сағат бұрын
I wonder if Taal's VEI-7 caused some significant impact on the world at the time it happened. At around 4,000 BCE neolithic societies were already farming and the first cities were already established by then. I wonder the effect of that on the societies living in SEAsia, let alone Luzon itself.

0.2 PH ? That is battery acid, but people swim in Taal crater lake... how does that work?
@Cerbera667 сағат бұрын
They swim there? Really in the small crater lake, you don't mean the bigger crater lake?
@EatsLikeADuck7 сағат бұрын
Nobody swims in the crater lake at the summit of the volcano more than once.

@@Cerbera66 I'm probably confused by the names, Tim did say "0.2pH Crater Lake", which appears to me to be the big one, while the small one is called "Main Crater Lake", but I don't know the area, so I may be wrong. He did also say "on Taal Island", which I took to be the big island, but appears to be the small island. Confusing!
