Very interesting look at this gun. And if you don't mind me saying so, video quality on this channel has improved greatly, just in the less than a year I've been watching.

Thank you! I’m very glad you think so, just a process of trying new things seeing what works and finding good ways of telling the stories. Thanks for sticking with us and watching, appreciate it and the kind feedback! - Matt

I was not aware Rheinmetall made these. Also ever heard of the BRN-180? Gave me the idea for an HK style rollerlock upper for an AR-15, unfortunatly i'll never get this idea out of the basic concept idea.

I wish some of those rare early rear sight bases would pop up for sale somewhere, or that someone could get their hands on one and manufacture a copy for an early clone build.

Did Germany ever adopt rifle grenades for the G3?
@TheArmourersBench2 жыл бұрын
I believe they adopted Energa. Need to check that.

Anyone know why they chose G3 over AR-10?
@tomalong995 жыл бұрын
The early AR10s was a rather fragile affair. While certainly lightweight the saving came at the expense of durability with barrels splitting and furniture breaking. Also I imagine that AR with its extruded aluminium receiver was a lot more expensive than the stamped G3.

Indeed. A.I. Also weren't quite ready for mass production and W. Germany were weary of not producing the rifle's themselves.
