Appreciate video content! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Lammywalness Green Grapes Guide (just google it)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning how to become a successful grape grower minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin after many years got excellent results with it.

What do you mean about not having to worry about future generations if propagating by seed? You were discussing seedless and cuttings, so what seed is involved? Is it that you don't need to worry about cross pollination when cultivating seed stock along side other varieties from cloned and catalogued cultivar stock? The seedless varieties won't bear seed or pollinate is what you mean? Or like are you saying you can grow seedless varieties from seed? And then if so, how does that work? Where would that seed come from? That question aside, the main differences between wine and table grapes to note are skin thickness, fruit size, and seed bitterness, if any seed at all, yeah? Enjoyable and helpful stuff. Much winery to ya. TY!

Is there a table grape you'd recommend for wine making.
@TheHomeWinemakingChannel2 жыл бұрын
You could technically make white wine out of about any table grape but the quality would be comparatively poor compared to wine grapes. In the dark days of California winemaking they used to use a lot of Thompson Seedless but the quality was not good. It really contributed to the bad reputation the US had when it came to wines at the time.

I'm sure you know they do make raisins from wine grapes and sell them for snacking.

can i make jam or jelly from the red wine grapes? ever tried?
@TheHomeWinemakingChannel4 жыл бұрын
Yep, you can do it the same as you would from Concord grapes. They have big seeds, so you will want to strain those out, but so do Concords or Niagaras. You might have to adjust the ratios a little bit so the more premium grapes are a little smaller than a Concord, so you will have a little less pulp and a little more skin and seed in a given weight.

Hi.. i have questions I put to much sugar im my wine and become to sweeter is there any way to less the sweetness?
@CoolStuffGuysLike6 жыл бұрын
You can try to ferment out the sugar with a champagne yeast. Your best bet though would be to make a similar dry wine and blend it in until the sweetness is just right.

You mean for eating or making wine? If eating I usually spit out the skin because too thick and sour. The flesh is very sweet and intense though. I prefer eating table grapes.

Not currently. I would need a lot of licensing to do so legally. I just drink it and give it away to friends and family for the time being.

You discuss eating wine grapes, but not making wine from table grapes. What would the major differences there be?
@TheHomeWinemakingChannel6 жыл бұрын
You can make wine from table grapes but it has some disadvantages since it is a lot less concentrated. Wine grapes are little acid/sugar/flavor bombs. Table grapes are much more mild tempered. They also don't have slip skins, so you can't really crush and ferment on the skins but you can crush and press like a white wine. You can make wine out of any fruit and I would classify table grapes in the "any fruit" category more than the specialized wine grape category. A wine from table grapes generally might be a little out of balance as is the case when you need to make radical acid and sugar adjustments to steer the fruit into wine territory. The fruit flavor often can't overcome the tartaric acid and alcohol flavors.
