Societal issues aside, I'd love to live in the 40s-50s. The cars, everything was solidly made. Everything now is plastic. People knew how to dress and look good. Now it seems like most people are wearing in public what they wore to bed last night.

''societal issues aside'' lol, those issues would permeate your life, in fact it would BE your life so this sentence makes no sense, you can't cherry-pick in your life. Also while I agree that glamour of the 50s/60s is missed, I don't completely agree that people can't dress up either. I mean, outside of America women still know how to look feminine and elegant. Also, I doubt that all people could afford dressing up in the 50s.

Bette Davis has said in many interviews and have stated many times she is a huge fan of the young Susan Sarandon and if any one can play me it would be her...she is a real actress and she I would want to play me. It was bette Davis own wish for Susan to play her. First of all they both have uncanny resemblance of eachother and both have those big eyes and mannerisms. They just have different voices...bette had a more husky voice and Susan a more softer voice, but Susan got the accent and her ways of talking correctly. Just not her actual voice.

I don't understand "difficult" people, never did, and since I work as a producer/writer, I am exposed to a lot of them. When an actor is submitted for anything that will affect my work, I always ask around about them. Hey, maybe they had trouble in their lives, and that's why they hide in the acting profession, but that's not my problem. I would rather work with actors who just want to get the job done. I would never have tolerated either of these two demented women.

After Joan was let go from Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, they first asked Vivien Leigh to fill the spot, but she refused because Bette Davis was still (always will be) pissed she didn't get the role of Scarlett. And she sadly thought it was JUST because Jack Warner kept her from doing an MGM movie. Ah no, Bette, you may have been a dynamite actress, but you would of been sadly miscast as Scarlett. So, they went to Bette's bestie Olivia de Haviland (ironically Melanie Wilkes).

Right- maybe you missed a little flick called 'Jezebel'- Julie and Scarlett could have been twin sisters, really.. miscasting was something Bette really escaped mercifully often in her career, the governess and the Welsh schoolmarm being two notable exceptions..

Wow so many hate comments, and most come from gay people, why are you guys so obsessed with these old movie actresses and so so mean? There must be a connection between shitty childhood and bad behavior in later life.

This whole series has some inaccuracies. One big one is the one where Bette's daughter tell her in the restaurant that she isn't allowed to be alone with her kids anymore because she spanked the younger one (and the year is shown as being 1972). BD Hyman's second son was born until 1977 - and B.D. never had a confrontation with her in a restaurant.

Liza Waldman Bette just hated Crawford. She was always jealous of her looks, but they were old women here...Bette held a grudge against her for life. That is unfortunate considering that they were really strong women who had much in common.

Revenge of Bcraig5 ummm...I don't think so...I don't know why Bette thought she was going to win? She had not won any other award golden globe or anything previously to the academy awards for her performance in "Baby Jane." Also, a nomination is an honor. Bette already had several Oscars, so why was she so pressed? As if she was the only actress to give a great performance that year. Bette was great, but so was Ann Sullivan who won the award for "The Miracle Worker." That was awfully arrogant to believe that you were the only actress to deserve an award.
