We have some HUGE projects coming up to rebuild the family lake house, one of those involving some thing like 40 doors so I wanted a power feeder to help me out. These table saw upgrades, the power feeder and the new extension wing to properly support the power feeder will be a massive efficiency upgrade while building these doors and cabinets! I also setup the router table to accept the power feeder.

Tyler, I'm glad to see you using stock feeders, as they add considerable safety to many machine operations, with the bonus of saving your rotator cuff. Being a young man, you probably don't appreciate this latter benefit, but believe me that as you get older, your shoulders will thank you.

Looks great! Are you sacrificing the cutting capacity on the table saw? If so, are you just breaking your materials more with the track saw? Thx.

It is bolted on so an impact driver would make it quick to remove, the t-nuts mean you don't need to get under the top with a wrench

I was contracted for 900 linear feet of red cedar T&G siding. The General said he didn't want standard eight boards but rather ten and twelve foot boards. A power feeder on the router table became a must. I'm really glad I figured the cost of the feeder into the bid.

Hello the table saw power feeder install for those who want to do repetitive work and type assembly line acho which is an essential and necessary tool, but I don't think that is your case or for those who don't do work in large quantities I think it will be a useless tool , I repeat this tool will only be useful for those who do jobs in large quantities, greetings.

Great job Tyler. I had the same question as Richard below...are you sacrificing the cutting capacity on the table saw? I suppose that the feeder is easy enough to remove if you ever needed to. Thanks for sharing but where were the kids?

The biggest problem that I can see with that Power Feeder is that it limits the width of the stock that can be cut on the table saw.

They are really designed for small repeatable cuts like he is planning on for cabinets. When cutting hundreds or in the case of pro cabinet maker shops thousands of stiles and rails it is amazing. Most table saw injuries happen when making multiple mundane repeated cuts. This tool takes care of all that. For larger cuts it can just be unbolted and set aside.

@@steveslenderman8953 I lost some meat off my thumb for that exact reason. Got into a groove making the same cut and forgot my hand placement. Luckily didn't hit the bone, but I learned my lesson! If i start to make stupid mistakes even when not using power tools, it's time to stop.

Nice job - question so you need to use the table saw fence to ensure the power feeder is in line with the blade so you don't get angled cuts?
@ApexWoodworks
@ApexWoodworks 3 жыл бұрын
Dave, I see Tyler didn't answer you, so I will. You're right about the fence guiding the work, but the power feeder is oriented so it feeds the work now only forwards into the blade, but slightly angled inward so the work is continually pushed towards the fence. There are many very educational videos concerning power feeders which you may wish to consult. Hope this response gets you going in the right direction (sorry for that rather weak pun...).

So is the brand name on table saw or power feeder covered because they don’t sponsor you? Seems like if they’re good enough for you to purchase them why not give them credit for their products? I don’t understand the motive.

those swinging guard on the surface planer/ jointer are stupid, if your hand slip off the wood your edging in a forward motion it'll just swing out of the way and let you cut all your fingers off i cringe every time i see one. can i offer you a tip that may save your fingers and is good practice. when using your jointer/ surface planer as soon as they is enough wood on the out feed side transfer your hand over so you are pulling the wood away from the cutter and not pushing towards the cutter and never push the wood down directly above the cutter if you slip you will loose a big chunk of your hand in a instant. Youll also get a straighter edge by pulling the wood on the outfeed side which is a added bonus!

what is the point of this. you dont mention the brand, even covering it up, and did not list in in your LONG list of tools. So maybe the title should be "Table Saw Upgrades - New extension wing and Router / Table saw and other stuff that for some reason I cannot mention".
