I had a family reunion today and played ping pong/table tennis for the first time in a very long time. I never cared about the sport but man am I hooked now, hence me youtubing it. My cousin was the man to beat and was virtually unbeatable. I told him I'm gonna step my game up and be a challenge for him next year.

You have to throw the ball up at least 6 inches from the palm of your free hand, behind and above the surface of the table. Also there's a new rule that's come in in the last few years where the ball must not be hidden from the opponent between the time you throw the ball up to the time you hit it (I hate that rule. It's pretty much unenforcable).
