this is a great tutorial. very valuable points here. the timing of your shot probably affects your consistency more than the technique of your stroke, which we all obsess about

Hello Coach, Its great to watch your videos and contains lot of information supported with lot of technicalities. The timing positions for each type of shot explained in this video is really helpful as to understand when to make the stroke correctly. I have seen many coaches, they don't explain the importance of when to make the stroke and at what particular point, the ball should contact the racket. This video will give a precise understanding and all individuals can learn and practice out of this. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing. It works well for my forehand topspin. My problem was I touched the ball too early. As a result the placement was too shprt and lt is quite easy to block. After watching your video I realize that I need to wait for timing position 4 or 5. It also means that I have more time for preparation. My strokes are not bad but timing. Thank you very much.

Dear Coach, I really needed this video. I have played for a long time and achieved a fairly high level, but have had about a 15 year layoff. So I have been watching your videos to sort of "re-learn" the game from the ground up. In coming back I have found that I "wiff" (just plain miss) on the ball a lot... and on super easy shots too! So this video really hit home. "Fix" the ball. It has really helped a lot. Thank you! I am having a bit of trouble on the backhand Fixing the ball at the 3 position since at impact you really don't see the ball striking the blade. Feel seems to be far more the key. But still my perception of the ball coming straight at me seems harder for me to see when the ball hits the 3 pos. Any advise on Fixing the ball at a position on the backhand that may help me? Thank you so much for your great videos and help! Mark

even though i played tennis before i now consider myself as learning. made a mistake and order a straight handle Tibhar blade with Xiom omega euro (maxx sponge) rubbers on both sides. this setup was too fast for me as a beginner/armature. shots were very inconsistent and hard to keep on the table. watched your videos, educate myself and today purchased a donic waldner allplay with some 729 fx (1.8 sponge). this should help me develop and enjoy my tennis. thank you so much for these vids. Cheers!!
@pingsunday8 жыл бұрын
yes. good choice. Develop your stroke! You can see that the speed comes after if you can spin the ball. Feel the ball first, and then upgrade the rubber, the blade is the last thing you upgrade.

Hey coach, thanks for making these factual and informative videos. One issue I have when playing against higher rated players is that whenever they loop kill, I either freeze up and do nothing, or I attempt to block the loop kill and end up having the loop's spin throw the ball out. Your stuff is the best I have seen so far EmRat. I have never had much of a BH or FH, so I struggle in Div3, which is the lowest grade in our club. I can not afford coaching either, which makes your videos and training so valuable to me. Your knowledge of the game is impressive, so I am listening hard to everything you say, because I have never had any instruction, really. I wonder if you could explain sometime how to understand the numbers on the racket rubbers. After your video on rubbers and booster, I have become curious as to what I am using. Here are a few numbers on the bats I use. First is Taiji Sanwei T88 (62-007)on both sides......I have no idea what the numbers mean. Second is Tibhar Evolution FX-P (174-012) on both sides. Again, I do not know what to expect with either racket, except that I go outside the table more often with the Tibhar, when I am pushing and chopping.......so I have returned to the T88 for now. The blade with Tibhar is 729 Bomb (OFF), and blade with T88s is Paul Pinkewich (Australian Champion), with no numbers. My game is lots of spin serves, with lots of variation, and then it is defense, as I have no attacking shots, FH or BH. My returns are with lots of sidespin, BH and FH.......so opponents often miss the ball completely. Those who have good topspin drives, both FH and BH, usually have little trouble with me, because they hammer everything that comes high, and sidespin is no problem for that type of shot. So, I remain in the middle of players in this grade. I think your instruction can help me a lot......so I will try to improve now, with the knowledge you give, thank you! JAMES, from Brisbane TT Club, Australia.

Hi How are you? I'm an offensive player who like to loop far from the table These days I'm using Tensor rubber on both FH and BH - Pailo AK47 Due to your videos about Chinese Philosophy I'm thinking about using a Tacky Chinese rubber on the FH, for example Hurricane 3 neo Do you recommend moving from EU rubber to Chinese tacky rubber for my FH?

When do you start your backswing in regards to timing? I've heard when the opponent hits the ball, when the ball crosses the net, etc. You mentioned back back back back swing, is there a pause before the swing? Thanks, your videos are great!
@pingsunday8 жыл бұрын
yes, there is always a pause before the swing. the best timing to start your backswing is right after your stroke, you do a backswing right after. think that the ball will be returned very fast, don't wait for the opponent hits the ball, or when the ball corsses the net.
@rafaelmeneses45787 жыл бұрын
regards What distances between the table do you consider to be the best to obtain the optimum point for both right and backstroke (knowing that the above varies greatly according to the adversary) I think it is important in the process of Training make this quite clear in the young players so that already I leave in automatic like the majority of the movements in this sport and many others. Thanks in advance. I'm sorry for my translator's english
