An excellent tutorial. I've been using the app for a year & am pretty confident on it, but still learned some great tips by starting at the basics. But what I was trying to learn that even got me watching tutorials you didn't touch on. A follow video for intermediate and advanced users would be AWESOME, particularly looking into the functions of the many effects (for example, what does the "wrap" button do in the bit krusher pedal). Thanks again! Subscribed!

Thanks for commenting Itradio. The CPU meter was at full but I didn't have any crashes. I think I had one when I kept switching between Apogee Mic and Midi Keyboard via lightning but this was rare and I just started plugging in my USB device before opening the session and it worked perfectly.

Hey Junior. I have not yet as I'm holding off updating to iOS 7 on my iPad until a few key updates are released (mainly Beatmaker 2.5). As soon as I do though I will make a video on this. I have used it in iMPC on an iPad Mini running iOS 7 and the possibilities are incredible. I will let you know when we get something up on Tabletop IAA. Thanks for commenting :)

Fantastic, Elliot. VERY well done, CLEARLY understandable tutorial. Probably the best I've ever watched for any app. I may find this out during my own explorations, but I would like to know if it's possible to change loops manually, sort of construct a song on the fly rather than have the entire song form play from beginning to end. There have been some midi sequencers and drum machines that did this; for example: start playing loop #1, keeps playing loop #1 until you tap loop #2, and when you do, it finishes loop #1 and then goes to #2, and keeps playing that one until you tap another. Thanks for any info, and once again, very nicely done tutorial.

im new to apple and ios (huge android fan), but all the awesome music apps are on apple, so i picked up an ipad pro and a bunch of music apps (truth be told, im old school and use all hardware gear, scsi drives, glyph, zip disks, hard disk recording etc) to goof off on when im travelling and at the "office" so i needed to wrap my head around tabletop. you sir did a fantastic job! MIDI LEARN was a bonus for me! just picked up a mpk225 akai to use and i was also looking for a good tutorial on midi routing. boom goes the dynamite! you sir took care of me all in one sitting! cheers mate!

First off, loved the tune man, sweet guitar and very inspiring how quickly a track can be put together. Downloaded Tabletop yesterday morning and started to put something down, next thing I knew it was gone midnight. A great piece of software, and one that kinda works the way I like to, I would say one of the easiest DAW's to learn and produce from, and I've used a few. (I've no affiliation to the makers). Great tutorial, had most of it cracked by trial and error pretty fast; I thought until watching your video to the learn some finer detail, in particular routing. Very grateful for your efforts. Cheers.

I never experienced this with so few devices and a hard reset took care of the only issue I had once my CPU was maxed out. Have you tried that? With automation, easiest thing is to turn Table-Edit mode on so it applies to all loops, hit record and hold your finger on the automated adjustment and it will record a default neutral value with no automation and you have in effect turned off automation recording :) Hope that helps?

Being an unabashed, self professed gear and music junkie, I watch a TON of tutorial videos. And I had to tell you that you've produced one of the best that I've ever seen man. It was extremely well produced, focused, practical, and funny! I had never heard of this app before, and was actually watching an Audiocopy tut when I came across this one. Now, I'll be downloading this one as soon as I get done writing this comment. If you happen to read this, I have a question that I would love to ask if you wouldn't mind. I was trying to look at your hardware routing, as you were explaining the MIDI learn features. When I try to run my Oxygen 25 to my IPad, I always get a pop up saying that my accessory cannot be powered by the iPad. I have a PreSonus iTwo interface, and I can't seem to figure out how to incorporate it into my iPad setup. The Oxygen 25 is USB powered only, and has no 5pin midi ins or outs, just USB. Would you know of a workaround for this issue by chance? I'd be very grateful for any thoughts you might have on the subject. Any suggestions at all would be much appreciated! Again, outstanding video, and I'm going to your site to see what else you may have available. If you ever have the desire to do a tutorial on Maschine MK 2, I'll be glued to the screen. Respectfully, Todd

Todd Dickinson Thanks for such a nice comment Todd - I really appreciate it.It sounds like it is a power consumption issue you are experiencing, however it shouldn't exist as this video shows the same model working fine on an iPad: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZS5nIqkaL5rqdE What version of iOS are you running? I also have an iTwo and have been using it with the PreSonus app that it is designed to work with which allows multitrack recording. Have you given that a go? The PreSonus iTwo will not be compatible with your Oxygen sadly.

Cubasis, Garageband,Beatmaker and any of the major DAW iPad APPS. Also Adobe Photoshop touch, IMovie, Pinnacle Studio. So the major Photo and Video editors on iPad. To sum that up Music making, photo and video editing apps. They tend to be a bit more involved than the average App. That's why I bought my iPad to do music, video and photo editing. I am waiting anxiously for the iPad 5 to be released as I am only using iPad 2 and I am ready to upgrade now and get stuck into those Apps.

Awesome tutorial! As I am just getting started with this app, I am trying to find the best way to export individual tracks to import in a real recording studio, into protools for instance. So far, I seem to only be able to export entire sessions/songs, but not the individual tracks (ie. kick, snare, etc.). Since I do the majority of my sequencing in studio and not for my in-house pre-production, it would be very helpful if there was a way to do this. Thanks!
@Epictutorials11 жыл бұрын
Have you tried muting all but one channel at a time and exporting the track, then muting all but the next? In the end you should get separate mixes for each export that you can import into your DAW as high quality WAV files for mixing. Let me know is this helps?
@EtareNeged11 жыл бұрын
I had tried that, but I think if I do as you mentioned and change the name of each track as it appears in the itunes file it should work. Thanks for the tip, I look forward to learning more about tabletop and using it for my next project. If you already have you're keyboard hooked up to the iPad how do you hook up the microphone? Do you just disconnect the keys? Is there a device that let's you hook up multiple midi and instrument and mic inputs to the iPad at the same time?
@Epictutorials11 жыл бұрын
Great question Eli. Normally you can only have one instrument connected, but some apps support the use of core audio compliant sound cards. Auria for example does this and contains a list of supported sound cards on their website, but sadly it does not support MIDI. Check out our review of the iRig Pro as it allows you to connect MIDI and an XLR/1/4" jack at the same time but Tabletop only supports one audio input at a time.
