In this tutorial I show you how to paint Your Cadian Shick Troops so you can get them ready to play Warhammer 40,000
This is an easy to follow guide that uses Citadel products to achieve fantastic looking miniatures, even if you’re new to the hobby.

Dude I started getting into painting Warhammer this year, got myself a load of Cadians, painted them up and they were totally meh. Lost the love and they were sat on my shelf for 6 months. If you're first starting into 40k, don't do horde armies. You will hate yourself after 10 models. And that's maybe 10 out of 25 models that you're just gonna pick up and put in the graveyard as soon as another unit sneezes on it.

I just finished my 1st model half way, ( scout sentinel) as it instructed me to paint before fully assemly. This is my 1st painting after elementary school. it turned out to be better then I expected as even tho texture started to build up thx to shaky hands but my paint wasnt as thic as I feared to be for the 1st try. If I only count the painting, and assembly ( I did the priming yesterday) it took me about 7 hours just to do the upper body of the sentinel as I used bluetech to cover up the area where I want no paint. Even tho my guy sitting in it has no face I'm still proud of my work.

A small question, since you're painting individual parts and THEN glue them together, at any point did you find it more difficult for the parts to stick to the paint vs plastic?

if I'm using super glue, the paint doesn't really matter. If I'm using polycement then I tend to scrape away the paint on the contact surface first

I already built some of my miniatures. Would you recommend me taking them apart back into parts. Tidy them up, Then painting them first, then re gluing them ?

honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it, its not worth the time and the effort to do that, you risk damaging the miniatures as well. do your best, you may even find it doesn't make too much of a difference. I don't always do sub assemblies, just for these tutorials to show you the best outcome.

In all honesty the new shades aren’t that different. They still behave exactly how the old ones use to. The new shades are a bit thinner though which is actually a good thing, they’re not as sticky. All my newer videos since they came out have been the newer pots, but either will work

I would still try and just use lahmian rather than the contrast. You want to be able to match the finish of the layer paints if you can

Using superglue on plastic models is a bad idea. It's too brittle. Just use Tamiya Extra Thin Cement.

I only use super glue to attached the parts together at the end. I do actually use Tamiya thin. You could use poly cement at the end but you risk ruining the paint and often the surfaces tend to have paint on them which can effect the bond for poly cement. It’s personal preference but you have a point 😃 thanks
