Using Skarsnik Green as the final highlight looks really good! I've never seen that before, but love the result.
@Rookie40K2 жыл бұрын
It does look good. Less Tron like than yellow neon green. Skarsnik looks a lot closer to the old goblin green, which I prefer the look of DA on cover of the old DA veteran squad box art, likely hl with goblin green.

I thought moot green would be too much like salamanders. Skarsnik just seemed right to me. Glad you liked it 😄
@benwooding13112 жыл бұрын
Yes, first time I've seen someone not use moot green.
@martineasterman51702 жыл бұрын
If you use Moot green then it becomes necessary to do an 8 part contrast medium to 1 part dark angels contrast paint as an all over glaze to both mute the Moot green and bend all the highlights together...otherwise you will live in tron neon green. Just remember the glaze should look mostly congrats medium with a hint of green and you can do more than one coat...DA contrast paint is very strong.

I personally prefer my bolters Khorne Red as I learned mainly by watching Duncan Rhodes, however that bright red certainly makes him pop out. Having a brush your comfortable and confident using is important, doesn't have to be a fancy brush, just one you can vibe with. If your struggling to see what your doing, I tend to use a pair of cheap reading glasses or you could get some modeling magnifiers. I found this made a massive difference as my eyesite is terrible anyway keep it up, you'll get there

Beautiful paint job. Thinking of using the armour painting on robes for some Adepta Sororitas. I'm new to painting, so would this armour scheme work well for the cloth parts of sisters? Not sure if the armour colouring would look different on cloth parts of a model
@TableTopReadyYoutube Жыл бұрын
I am planning on doing the sisters combat patrol box, probably in June if you can wait untill then. in the mean time a lot of my other tutorials I paint robes and cloth , especially the Custodes videos to kind of get and idea of how its done. are you wantong to paint green cloth? if so, as a beginner i would start with a mid tone colour. something like Warboss Green and then highlight the rasied folds with Skarsnik Green. If you want to a bone colour, watch my new Ultramarines tutorial to see how i painted the Captains robes, its simple. Ushabti bone and Screaming Skull to highlight
@Groove_Crusader Жыл бұрын
@TableTopReadyKZbin Thanks for the reply Michael! Excited to see you paint up some sisters. For their scheme, I'm looking to try and do a dark green 'necron-esque' colour scheme for them. Huge fan of this. Got my Dark Angels box coming tomorrow. I don't have anywhere near the colours suggested here. But I think I've got a fair few. A question though. I have a white AP spray but I was thinking a black undercoat is best. Is Abadon Black Base colour OK as my first layer?
@TableTopReadyYoutube2 жыл бұрын
If that’s what you have then that’s not a problem at all. I think just painting the caliban green first should still be okay. If you do find it too light for your taste just do an all over wash with the nuln oil and layer up with caliban again in place of the recess shade. This will be easier than painting black then caliban 👍🏻

@TableTopReadyYoutube Жыл бұрын
It depends. If you just want to try this out on just 1 marine then that would be fine. I would use yellow instead of white by the way. If your planning on painting an army then I would invest in warpstone. It keeps the colour consistent across your whole army and honestly it’s a pain to have to mix paints. A pot of paint for the ease and peace of mind is worth it

Great tutorial, and I will follow it tomorrow painting my Dark Angels. But I will also troll you for how you painted eye lenses. Those two white spots should not be on the opposite sides, but on the same, left or right. So many people get this wrong. This looks stupid, like squint-eyed helmet:). Maybe such painting has some purpose - so you can see this dot from greater angle, but it's unnatural. Anyway, this is opinion of only one man. This tutorial was a lesson for me. I did not painted many years and such videos helps a lot.
