To be fair most rules bloat comments come from the interactions from the codex’s and HH has I think 5 army books so the “bloat” is less.

NOTE: 18:50 The BS roll to hit is determined by a Hit chart. A BS of 4 means any dice that rolled greater than or equal to a 3, successfulIy hits. That means in the dice roll at 18:56, the player hit with 4 dice, instead of 3

Yeah, once I got to the assault phase, I found it was a bit rule heavy. I'm using the models in 40k now which has worked out nicely and got me playing an army I never thought I'd play (CSM). I love the play style.

If a units Surge move would be enough to get into combat say marines make a 3 in surge move, do they get into combat?

You only make a surge move if you fail to roll the required charge distance. As example a unit declaring a charge at a target 6” away needs at least 6 on 2D6 (for standard marines no modifier is applied). If the roll is below this then a surge move is made equal to half the roll result. E.g charge roll is 5 on 2D6 the charge is failed, therefore surge move is 3” (2.5 rounded up) towards target unit. You cannot redirect a failed charge to a closer unit using the surge move.

So much easier than trying to learn the NEW 10th edition, are the Imperial Guard in this at all? No if not no worries I fell in love with the Emperor' Children 3rd Legion after reading the First HH book many many years ago and started to make an army of them. Looks like I gotta bit of dusting off to do.

​@timjerrom7173 Even better than that, they have the Imperialis Militia and Cults, which is the real guard analogue in HH and the rules for the army are free online. The best part is with the Provenance System choices it is insanely customizable to whatever kind of force you imagine that is highly customizable and 3rd party minis are practically encouraged to build out the coolest and most unique force you can imagine.
